Water pressure very low when running the hot water

I am guessing this is a combi-boiler, and not an AC unit.

If this is the case, then it is probably the heat exchanger that needs replacement. They furr up like kettles do, and will eventually stop the water supply. If your kettle has a white deposit in it - this will be far worse in the boiler.

After fitting a replacement, you can add a system to prevent limescale build up.

Check to see if the pressure has dropped on the cold tap if so then the main pressure to the house is low. try opening the main valve to the house a bit more it may be partially shut.if the cold pressure is higher check to see if the water tank is filling properly .

How to tell if the compressor on your ac unit is running

If you have a split unit, it is fairly simple, just feel the small refrigerant line coming out of the unit. The temperature should be warmer than the surrounding air. If is not running the temperature will be the same as the surrounding air. If you have a package unit, take off the access cover to where the compressor is located. Find the compressor discharge piping to the the condensing coil. It is the smaller of the two major pipes on the side of the compressor. Be careful the temperature of line coming out of a properly operating compressor will be hot enough to cause second degree burns. If the line is very warm to very hot the compressor is running. If you have a set of gauges, attach the RED hose to the high pressure service connection and the other low pressure hose BLUE to the bigger pipe low pressure connection. Make sure the gauges are isolated by shutting the valves. The pressure difference between high and low pressure is normally at least 150 psig diference.

There was no hot water so repressurised as the pressure wass low the red light remained on but occassionally when turn hot tap on the green light comes on there is hot water then it shuts down and red...

These sure were not out for long. The bright red button is a pressure release valve which could be faulty hence allowing water to bypass out of the system and not having hot water. Try strapping a bag around the pipe that goes outside and see if it fills with water. To top up your system look on the pipes just below the boiler. There should be a cold filling loop or a connection for one. If not get one from a plumber and ask them how to fill system up, its straight forward enough and your problem should be fixed with this info

Switches off after 5 mins

Thermostat click? A leaky pressure switch will cause this.

Stuck fan, causes compressor to get hot and stop.

Dirty coils, ditto.

Blocked outside vents, ditto.

Weak run capacitor, will cause compressor to run hot and stop.

Low voltage from bad breaker, house wiring, outlet, cord or internal switch, will make compressor run hot.

Low on gas, the circulating gas keeps the compressor cool and will overheat quickly if it's too low.

Have a professional check, pretty much in that order even.

I have no hot water and no central heating. I have topped up the water pressure, which was low, but its still not working. I seem to recall that there might be a low pressure switch which needs resetting...

the pressure switch, can be mounted to the pipe..most of them have a grey cover..check for rest button, their can be 10 ways to set this up.
2nd your pump maybe broken

How do you get refrigerant from the bottle into the air con

hook up the gauges to the large line at the condenser, press in contactor, place ref can in hot water or at least water. the hoter the can the higher the pressue, dont use a torch. with the unit running the will be less than 65 psi at that low sidevalve. Outdoor pressure should be 200-285.

Vaillant combi boiler problem

when the tap is turned on and the water light on the boiler doesn't this means the diverter valve is not operating it could be down to low water pressure in the house this can be checked at the cold tap in the kitchen. if there is plenty of pressure then it could be the diagphram in the diverter valve is worn or split. the diagphram is only a few pounds but it depends on the engineer you get as to how much money he wants to fit it.
the egg timer symbol (or two pyramids together) is an ignition indicator turn off and on again to see if it will fire with the tap running. reset the boiler with the lower right hand control knob.

Had new mixer taps fitted on sink and bath (water pressure was fine hot and cold before) but now have very low pressure on hot water. can anyone please help, as its taking 35 mins to run a bath.??????

can you check some other source of hot water? if the pressure there is ok?..if it is, then the problem is on the new tap that you fitted.
