Corcho Model CH30t-2 panels won't stay lit

The Corcho model CH30t-2 heater that I have recently began giving
me problems. All 5 panels on the heater light fine, the 2 panels
on the left side though begin making a crackling sound and there is
a small blue flame in the seam between them. When the blower comes on there is a large noise and the 2 left panels go out. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.Thanks.

HI it sounds like the fire cement between them needs replacing you can buy this at home hardware or heating supplier this should stop the flame down the middle , it stops air getting in and it will burn better , hope this helps you ?

You didn't state the Brand or Model of your refrigerator but it sounds like your flame sensor isn't working.

Try cleaning the gas tube with a pipe cleaner and insure the flame is in contact with the thermo coupling.

Pilot lite won't stay lit

Thermostat flame sensor. Do you see a little rod next to the pilot? That is what tells the main gas valve that the pilot is lit and it is safe to give gas. Easy swap, and you can usually just pick up a generic one.

This is caused in most cases by a defective gas valve thermal probe.

Why do you think the regulator has anything to do with the thermo-couple?if its not the thermo-couple its the flame sensor, you failed to give me the model number of the heater.when does the pilot go out.If its when the gas valve opens its the sensor.

Can not get the bricks to light on my empire corcho

I have the same htr in Mich. & have worked on gas htrs.for many years.
Does the flame go out when you let go of the button to lite it?
If it does, then the thermocouple is bad.

If the flame stays on, but goes out when you turn the dial,
the gas regulator is bad.

Probably a little more expensive to buy new then to fix it.

Michael.

Pilot light won't stay lit

Look for dust and lint. Look for them in places where gas should be freely flowing. I had a similar problem with an Empire Corcho wall-mounted propane ceramic catalyst heater. First it was the pilot light, then the #2 ceramic mantle. After horsing around with the gas lines and pressure regulators and trying to re-aim the pilot, it all turned out to be dust and lint in the gas passages. A little dust bunny in the brass pilot tube gave me a pilot light the shape and color of a banana. One puff of compressed air, and I got back my razor-sharp pilot. And some dust in the chimney of the #2 burner kept it burning blue/yellow and blistering paint off the upper surfaces of the heater. A bit of cleaning with a shop-vac put that right. "Passive" heaters are very much prone to this sort of problem because they rely on convection currents (i.e. LOW velocity) to get the job done. Convection currents are notorious dust collectors, as in COBWEB CITY.
