I've even manually entered my Primary Dns server, I've port forwarded those numbers, and power cycled, sSAME RESULTS. WHAT DO I DO?

If this is the original xbox you have to use a crossover cable especially if your router is the same as your modem (both the same box) (try google for the crossover cable instructions.) if this is the 360 it should just work, also how is your router plugged into your modem or are they the same thing. If that is the case go get a linksys router and set it up so that your modem-router combo plugs into the linksys router which plugs into your xbox (note that this is a fix for the original to.)

Do u need a wireless adaptor to set up xbox live??

No, a Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter is not required to access, and set up Xbox Live, but you will need an internet connection. If you are close enough to a modem or router, you can buy an Ethernet cord, and plug it in to both the modem/router, and firmly into your Xbox 360 console. You will either need the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter, or the Ethernet cord. Ethernet cords are very cheaper, much cheaper than a Wireless Adapter, but the Wireless Adapters are much or easier to reason with. So choose wisely with money.

How do you connect to x box live

You can either plug in an ethernet cable from your router or modem to the back of your xbox 360 console or purchase the wireless adapter for the console and connect to your router using that, then use your windows live account ( if you already have one, if not create one) to connect to / create an xbox live account

Cant connect to live

To connect to Xbox Live, you will need a wired Ethernet cord plugged into the back of your Xbox console. If you are using a Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter, you have to plug it in into the back of your Xbox located to the bottom left from flat on the ground. Also make sure you have a strong enough connection on your internet, and router/modem. Make sure your Xbox console is close enough to your router or modem as well. Also attempt to reset your connection and modem/router and see if this works. 1 or 2 bars are to low for Xbox Live gameplay. 3 or 4 bars are just quite enough. I hope this helped, just contact me if you have further questions or problems!

How to set up xbox live? i have wireless, but it still doesnt work.

The 360 requires a wireless adapter, which I assume you already have. This would connect to your wireless router or other wireless access point you have in the house.

If you are having issues connecting still, make sure your High Speed modem is a docsis2.0 modem or higher.

If you are still unable to connect through your wireless, I suggest plugging an ethernet cable directly from your router into your 360. This is to make sure you get the best and most reliable connection.

If location of router versus location of XBox is a problem, a long ethernet cable can be purchased from a website like Newegg or Amazon for a cheap price.

Have one ethernet for computer want to use xbox live so i take out the ethernet from computer and put it in xbox unplug wait plug back in turn still will not connect red x for modem

You should get a cable/dsl router/switch or wireless cable/dsl router/switch and put it between your Modem and network nodes (IE your computer and xbox 360)

So it is modem to router wan port

Xbox 360 to router lan port
Computer to router lan port

You can purchase one cheaply at best buy

Cannot connect ot xbox live my ip address test fails

if you dont have a router, you can either have the xbox or the pc conneted to the internet, not both. you have to have an eithernet cord or a usb 2.0 high speed usb chord that goes directly from the xbox to the modem. you cannot go from the modem to the computer then to the xbox.

Cannot get wireless router to work with Xbox 360

Does the westell router only have 1 ethernet port, if so a ethernet hub would be better, they can be baught for about £10.
You will need to input your account settings for your broadband conection into your new router for it to work, with this router all you actually need to do is connect it to the 360 with an ethernet cable, if you want to use it wirelessly you need to buy a wireless adapter for the 360 for about £30 - £60 depending where you buy it.

Why isnt my xbox connecting? i plugged the cble into the rouder and then put the other cable into the xbox and its not letting me connect.

To make a router connection to Xbox Live:
  1. Before you connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360 console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
  2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your router.
  3. With another Ethernet cable, connect one end to one of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.
  4. With the third Ethernet cable, connect one end to another of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
  5. Turn on your modem, then your router, then your PC.
  6. Make sure your PC can access the Internet. If not, you may need to configure the router for Internet access. For help configuring the router using your PC, check the instructions that came with the router.
  7. Turn on your Xbox 360 console with no disc in the disc tray.
  8. If you've already used your Xbox 360 system for offline play, the Xbox Dashboard will open to the Xbox Live area. Select the Xbox Live banner. When you see the Xbox Live Marketplace you'll know you're connected to Xbox Live.
