Question about Cuisinart DCC-2000

Won't make coffee-doesn't appear to turn on.

I put the water in, the coffee grounds in, turn it to 'brew on' and nothing. No light on. The water does not even go anywhere. It is as if it is not plugged into electricity. I was able to get it to brew the 1-4 cups for a couple times but now only the light comes on for that - nothing else does anything. I've unplugged and let it sit for hours and tried it again. I've emptied it and left it unplugged for weeks and tried again. Nothing seems to work.

    I had a identical problem with my DCC2000 cuisinart c/m. The red brew light would not turn on nor the green timed light. The orange 1-4 cup light would come on but it wouldn't start. I left it unplugged for weeks and when I plugged it back in it worked!!! but only once and then it was back to no red brew light and not working. I called cuisinart and they asked if I de-calcified it(which I do every three weeks for flavor) but it seems odd as this is a definite electrical problem or programming problem hence the unplugging it for three hours to reset itself. Anyway it has a three year warranty and for ten bucks I get a new one with the remainder of the warranty(odd again) of my old one which is one year. I'll say this they stood behind the product albeit strange the new one doesn't carry a full warranty.

    I have been having the same problem with my Cuisinart DCC-2000 - coffeemaker will not turn on - I just called Cuisinart 10:25 PM - talked to a gentleman in customer service who ask for the serial # and model - told me I was still under warranty - my new coffeemaker should be here in 5 -7 days. Thank you for your help :-)

    No power, light or other. Tried a different outlet - nothing...unplugged it and let it sit, plugged it back in a day later, worked fine until this morning. I brewed my requisite pot of morning coffee, went back to get more and there was no power and coffee was cold. Also, the clock has been resetting along with the progam - seems as if it's been shorting out during the day and then coming back on I even really want a new one?

    Same thing. It is as if the unit isn't even plugged into the outlet. No clock, no lights, no nothing. I unplugged it, let it sit for hours...nothing. Tried another plug...nothing. Love this machine, but dang, if it doesn't make coffee, what good is it? Back to a Bunn???

    First it started losing time.
    Then it would turn off -- then on -- then off.
    Sometimes you could manually start it in the morning, other times dead.

    I'll try the 800 number.

    By the way, this thing needs a light behind the display as the clock is useless. I keep a small flashlight in the room to read it.
    It also needs an LED to light the coffee cup so you can see how full the cup is getting. No, my kitchen is not that dark.
    And lastly, I forgot to flip the lid down once. It spewed hot, hot water all over the floor. I don't like safety switches much, but the lid needs a switch (which will then probably go bad -- sigh).

    We have had 4 of these, exact same problem after variously 1yr, 6mos, 9mos, and brand new tonight...we bought ours at Bed Bath & until they change their refund policy we won't be subject to the $10 shipping...but this is ridiculous, why don't they just fix the limit switch/relay know as well as I do right now that they know what the problem is...

    My problem is the same as everyone else's. I have had this coffee maker for 1 year and it only comes on when it wants to. No clock and no light early in the morning when I want coffee but will just come on in the middle of the afternoon when I don't want it. I called the 800 # too and they are sending me a brand new one in 7-10j days for $10 and I have to send this one to them when I receive the new one.

    This DCC-2000 I bought 11 months ago and it started to go haywire about 2 wks. ago. Now it will not brew and no light will go on at all. It just had a quick but piecemeal death. What can I do? I expected this coffee maker to last more then a year.

Same thing here, just call the 1-800-726-0190, they will send you out a new one. You'll have to pay a $10.00 shipping and return the old one. You should have your new coffee maker in 7 - 10 days, customer service was nice and very helpful. No complaints here except, what do I do for coffee for the next 7 - 10 days?????????? LOL

    Good on you for coming here to FixYa to try to solve the problem, but.....the best solution has got to be to actually fix it and thereby keep the original device in operation along with the material its made of and its embodied energy. Throwing stuff away and shipping new stuff around is not sustainable whether your warranty provides for that or not. Repeat not sustainable. The idea here on FixYa fix it! In my opinion, this is not a "Best" solution. Lets all determine that the thing is broken AND is unrepairable before trashing it

I've had my coffee maker for just over 2 years, and about a week ago it stopped working - wouldn't turn on. After I found the solutions on this website, I figured I would call and return the unit, but 2 days later I tried again and it works. After a week the unit still works fine, but the on/off switch is sensitive - sometimes I have to hold it for about 10 seconds before it turns on - other times it's instantaneous.

Sure, a brand new one would be nice, but then what would I do while I wait for the replacment!? :(

Same deal as everyone else has mentioned - you pack up the coffee maker and ship it in to Cuisinart, along with a cheque for $10.00 to have the replacment shipped back to you.

So I had the same problem. The solution is really easy...... The tech told me to run a solution of 2/3 water and 1/3 vinegar through the machine after unplugging it for 2 hours (to reset the machine). I did this 2 times then plain water 2 times. Now the machine is working perfectly. I guess that there is a sensor that shuts the whole thing down if there is too much scale build-up.

Just got off the phone w/ cuisinart. i had the same problem. they told me to unplug the machine for one hour so it will have time to reset itself....we'll see. if i wait 10 days my i.v. tubes will get dry rot and then all hell will break loose.

Mine would turn off and there was no power for minutes to hours. I called the number above; answered immediately; $10 to ship and I need to return the broken unit when I receive the new one; no discussion or argument, I just needed the serial number. I suggest you try again to call (I called Sunday at 3:15 in afternoon).

Called Cuisinart at 800-726-0190 6:10PM on 10/10/08.  Zero wait, person asked me model # and Serial #, said they would ship me a new one in 7 - 10 days if I would cover the $10 shipping and ship the old one back.  Done Deal!!

I have had mine for one year and it worked perfectly. Last weet it died. No clock, no indication that any power was hooked up. Checked the outlet - no problem. Called Cuisinart 800-726-0190 and held forever and ( 10 minutes or, left a message on 6/26 and no one has followed-up to date. I am not impressed with C

having no idea where it get water from does not help us figure it out , would suggest checking with the manufacturer's website for technical support .but 15 years is a good long life . some burn out in only 3 or 4 yrs

Red light won't stop flashing. Parts are in place

Be sure all coffee grounds are cleaned from beneath the water tray and the grounds tray and the coffee brew group. We had the same problem but finally redid everything, including cleaning the coffee brew group under hot water, drying and replacing carefully until it clicked in place. The moving parts of brew group have to be in exactly the right place. Good luck!

Quit pumping water

all lights are flashing and nothing is happening, water is full and kcup is in?? i thought turning the power off and back on will reset but even that didn't work.

After the coffee is ground and pressed, no water goes through to brew the coffee and dispense it

Sounds like the brew unit is blocked, to be sure try this, use the pre grounds button to brew a coffee, if no water comes out then it is the brew unit, remove unit and look under red o-ring, you will see a shower screen, clean shower and tube that flows to the discharge(top, you will have to remove the 2 screws up there, be careful not to lose the small plastic ball under the spring). Reassemble and try again.

Put in water turn on green light is on nothing happens

The green light is used for setting an automatic brew time. Turn the brew button until its red and your coffee will begin brewing.

Water will only dispense out of the frother.

It could be several soutions to this problem. First of all, try to clean the sieve in the brew unit, it may be clogged. Take out the tray, in between the 2 brown "lips" inside you can put your finger up and clean out all the old coffeegrounds stuck up there. Then put everything back in place and run a Rinse machine operation.

If this is not helping, listen out when you start up the machine; You should hear that the valve is turning 3 times, if it doesn`t it can be a problem with this valve not opening in right position. Then all the water would go out in the tray, and not into the brew unit. That maybe can be solved by changing this Multi ceramic valve or the Main Electronic board. Then it`s a job for a sertified Jura technician.

No Coffee dispenses

That is exactly what I would've suggested, the brew unit is clogged. remove brew unit and try to blow through the top, if you get through then check the bottom. One of the chambers must be clogged. Another question is the coffee extract wet or dry grounds?
If wet then the block is on the top, if dry it ids on the bottom.
