My GE 19.7 TFX20JR only partially freezes in certain areas and not cold on refrigerator side. This all happened at the same time it stopped making ice. Water still dispenses.

Check for frozen, iced over evaporator coil caused by defective defrost timer and/or heating element. Ice maker will not work unless freezer temp is around 10 degrees or less.

What type of adhesive is used to fasten the 325w heating element?

There is no adhesive used when installing a heating element on an RV fridge. It simply slides into a tube that is attached to the cooling unit just above the burner area. It is sometimes dificult to remove the old heating element because of rust buildup. Sometimes heating the area up works great. Heating Problem

Could you explain this further. Are you talking about the heat strip located behind the gasket in the freezer area to keep the door closing against the gasket from freezing or the heat that naturally occurs from the operation of the unit that blows the air from underneath the refrigerator.

At times, there is water that freezes under the vegetable/fruit drawers that are at the bottom of the refrigerator. Also, at times there may be a thin layer of ice on the floor of the top freezer. I'm...

Your freezer drain is clogged or frozen up with ice blockage. Need to remove the freezer floor liner, usually 2-4 1/4" screws holding it in - slide it out. Next slowly pour hot water over ice build up and melt all ice. The drain is under the evaporator coils (small hole near center) this connects to a pan under the refrigerator that then evaporates on its own. I usually place a couple of bowls inside fresh food area on top shelf to catch excess water dripping through ceiling of fresh foods.

Next you will need to attach a heat probe from the heater under the freezer coils and feed it into the drain in order to prevent freezing up again. Use part #819043 heat probe or strip some #14 gauge copper wire and wrap around heater once and place down through drain. Recommend the heat probe 819043 to get it right the first time.

The middle of our GE refrigerator is very hot. Why?

There is a loop of tubing from the condensor to warm this area with waste heat (removed during the inside cooling process) This is normal so don't worry about it

The top of the refrigerator around the light bulb area is hot which makes all the food near it warm. Is there any way to fix it?

Remove the light bulb for a day.
If the area gets cool with no light bulb you will have to repair/replace the light switch near the door.
If it is still warm you will have tp provide more information to find out what is causing the heat.

Water does not dispence

The water supply tube in the recessed area of the dispenser area has frozen. The only way to thaw it out without turning unit off for 24 hours and leaving the freezer door open is to use a hair dryer to heat the recessed area where the water comes out. The water line supplying water to the door has frozen in that area. It will take you about 1 1/2 hours to 2 hours to do this with door open and using hair dryer. Wish there was another way besides turning unit off for 24 hours but this is a common problem with the GE refrigerators. Soory. Wish I could have been more help. Rick
