I have to put it on drain and spin to empty it, otherwise the water pours out on the floor if I open the door,

OK, you will need to replace the water inlet valve. You have a stuck solenoid on it. Here is the part to order.http://bit.ly/V64krT Keep me posted!

  • Tracy Nov 28, 2012

what caused that? was it overload or ??

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

Does it power up? Have you cleaned the drain filter?

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

What caused what, the water valve to become stuck? The solenoid, over time, will buildup calcium and other minerals on it and not allow it to fully close.

  • Tracy Nov 28, 2012

yes it does and no I will try that, how do I do that?

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

OK, on the front bottom right side there should be a small access door. Open that and you will see the filter cap. Turn it to remove the filter. Have a towel handy since there will be some water that will come out! Let me know after you do that.

    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

OK, cleaning the drain filter will not fix the water issue. You will need to replace the water inlet valve that I previously directed you to. Here is the part again. http://bit.ly/V64krT I was referring to the filter since you said the unit was not working after your daughter did a load correct? You have 2 separate issues if I read your post correctly.

  • Tracy Nov 28, 2012

I had no issues until she put the 2 blankets in and it stopped working, I will get the part and replace the inlet valve! I was just wondering if a heavy load like that could cause the valve to go bad? my washer worked perfect until she did that, its only 2 years old seems strange that the valve would go bad already!!

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

Oh, no the heavy load would have nothing to do with the water valve running on. It was just a coincidence that's all. Keep me posted.

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Nov 28, 2012

The valve going bad could be due to the hardness of your water or some other foreign object that got hung up in the solenoid in the valve.

If it keeps filling, does it overflow or is the water running out as it fills?

  • Tracy Dec 01, 2012

just keeps filling, it filled so full the door popped open!! and flooded the room, we checked both the soleniods and both are working!

  • Richard Roth
    Richard Roth Dec 01, 2012

Ok, you have a faulty "pressure sensor switch" and it will need to be replaced. A pressure switch, or water level control, allows your washing machine to detect when it's sufficiently filled. Here is the part to order.http://bit.ly/VktjNS

Ok will give it a try! thanks again!

  • Tracy Dec 06, 2012

Turnes out that the hose to the pressure switch had a hole in it, nust be when the washer was overloaded and off balance it pinched the hose and tore a hole in it!

SOURCE: GE WSSH300G0WW front load washer

Had same problem with GE wssh300 front load washer. Removed two screws from front bottom panel (under washer front). Pulled off panel, loosened screw from a seal ring on the rubber flex hose going to a 4" square plastic housing. Reached down inside and found a ton of lint (probaby a 2" balls worth) jamming outlet. Removed lint an works geat. Very easy to do by tilting front of washer up and putting supports under front to keep elevated. Be careful to make sure supports are sturdy washer can't dop when servicing.

SOURCE: Samsung J845 front loader washing machine. Error

Hi
An OE error presents if the washing machine has not successfully drained the water in ten minutes.
there are a few simple steps to take before calling for service.
Step 1: Check the drain pump filter.
Items caught in the drain filter will prevent proper drainage. Over time build up can occur from detergents and additives used in the machine. Manually drain unit through the drain hose, then lay a towel down to catch the water, and remove the filter. Clean the filter thoroughly and restart the machine.

Step 2: Check the washers drain hose.
If the drain hose is not installed properly, the washer will not drain properly. The drain hose should not be installed more than 1 meter higher than the bottom of the washing machine.

Step 3: Confirm that the washer is leveled properly.
If the unit is not leveled properly, it will not drain properly. The front of the unit cannot be higher than the back or vice versa. If not properly leveled, the water can flow back into the machine. If this is the cause of the problem, please level the machine using the supplied leveling wrench. When you place a level on the washing machine, the bubble should be in the center. Confrim that the washer is leveled from side to side and front to back.
you can perform a diagonal test when leveling the washing machine to ensure that the unit does not tilt from corner to corner.

SOURCE: Simpson Front Loader won't start - Clicking Noise

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

SOURCE: I just got new Simpson

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
NO- you are not going too fast for the machine! As you say that the second load contained WOOL blankets it is possible that the drain filter has become blocked - yes, already.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and general guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
MANUAL
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)

If these have assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

Just a long shot - it may be the water inlet filter is blocked? normally there is a little mesh filter in the hose that screws onto the back - check that its not full of crap. This happened to me only a few weeks ago hope its as simple as that for you.

My samsung top loader washing machine sw65v9w won't stop filling with water

If the water stops when you stop the cycle, then the pressure sensor is at fault. If you need to turn the water supply off to stop it, then the water inlet valve is at fault.

There should be a door-actuated limit switch which detects that the door is closed, which is probably defective. Look for the plunger, listen for the click. It is the most likely component to fail, and is inexpensive to replace if you're handy. Be sure to have your machine unplugged during repairs.

Simpson Ezi Sensor Front Loader keeps pausing during washes, doesn't put through the detergent.

you might be putting the detergent in the wrong part of the dispenser,or you might have the hose on the wrong way,or the water valve has failed. Read up on your user manual to see what happens on this part of the cycle, does the w/m empty ,then try and bring in more water?? The main give away to this fault is,detergent still in the dispenser.Check all your filters on your inlet hose and water valves.
You have to ask yourself what has changed, cheers.

MY GE front loader washer won't fill with water or spin. I hear a hum when I turn it on and it sounds as if it's about to start a cycle but nothing happens.

It sounds as if your water valve is either clogged or the solenoid is stuck and not letting any water in. Here is a checklist of things you should do to help isolate the problem:
1) check to make sure the water is on
2) turn the water off and remove the water lines and verify that both the lines and the screens on the valve are clear of debris, calcium, etc.
3) take the top off the machine where you can actually see the valve, turn the machine on and see if the vavle is the humming noise that you are hearing. If so and no water is coming out then the valve is bad.

WASHER TROUBLESHOOTING

My GE front loader keeps stopping in the middle of the cycle. It does it over and over and never completes the cycle. It just started doing this a couple of days ago. It took me all day to do one load of laundry the other day. Tried again today with no luck. I tried it on three different cycles and all the same. It just keeps stopping and going to pause. When I shut it off it takes about 20 minutes for the door to unlock. Is this problem worth fixing or should I junk it?
