Question about D-Link DSL-G604T Wireless Router

How do I set up a router to extend the range of a wireless hub?

I use a BT Home Hub and I am looking to extend the range by using a D Link DSL g604t router. Using just the hub, signal strength is low min my son's room (there is a metal wall support). I can connect the hub and the router using an ethernet cable, but I am not sure how to set up the connections on the router. Do I set it to "bridge"?

Thanks. The hub now sees the other router as an access point, but the router does not communicate with the hub. How do I set the router to communicate with the hub?

I used this router successfully when I was with Orange, I sited it in the loft of my bungalow as the Orange router could not provide a wireless signal in all rooms (thick walls). I have recently moved to BT but cannot get the TP-Link to connect to the Internet. I am NOT technical but have set up router using CD supplied (after resetting box)- HELP (layman's talk please)

You would normally set it up as an access point. But bridge would work too.

Just wondering if your cable is faulty. Trey another cable between Hub and router.

Everything is available online these days, or with BT you pay them a fee and they come and do it for you.

How do I access the internet using a BT home hub set up for wireless operation, without having to go through BTfon

Hi Graham
This should be fairly straight forward.
Your BT Home hub should be transmitting 2 signals. One called BTfon and another called something like BTHomeHub2-PGD3.
The second is what your computer should be connecting to to access the internet. If you look at the back of your home hub you will see 4 rows of numbers/text.
One should say SSID and have have the same ending as the transmitter that your computer should be seeing. Underneath that it should say WEP code or WPA. (or something similar) What follows is the password you need to enter to access that home hub's internet transmitter. The BTfon thing is for the telephone that comes with some versions of the hub - it's not for the computer.
