Shut down the laptop, disconnect anything plugged into it, remove the battery and hold down the power switch for 15 seconds (with no power or anything attached to laptop).
Reconnect A/C power and power it back up. See if that works for you.
If not, when you get booted into Window, go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and click on System Restore.
Follow the prompts and choose a bold date back to a time prior to when you lost sound. When it reboots, you will probably have sound.
