SOURCE: jacuzzi at higher elevation to swimming pool,

you probably have a check valve (back flow preventer) on the line that supplies water to the spa when the pool is filtering as normal. Your check valve may have some debris in it or the seal inside may have failed allowing the water to drain into the pool when the system is off. You should see a valve on the return line that splits off from the pool return line on your system. There are several different check valves on the market, some have a clear lid that you can inspect without taking it apart. Some of them cannot be taken apart. Your challenge will be to find the check valve, then try to check to see it debris may be holding it partly open or it the rubber seal inside is damaged or missing. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Hi, I have let my

You need to get liquid chlorine and add about 2 liters and let your pool filter run for a couple of days and in the mean time clean your filter twice daily. If the pool at this stage is still a little green add more chlorine and broom the bottom to stir it up. After this as once your pool is back to almost normal, clean the the filter again and add clarifya. To keep your pool in good condion over summer buy 2 pool floaters, put 2 chlorine tablets in one and blue block pool sparkle in the other and each week add 1 liter of chlorine. Hope this helps you as i have the same pool and i do this and don't have any problems. You can also add salt to your pool if you like but dissolve it in water before you add it to the pool.

It depends if you are leaving the pump outside, if you are the you need to run RV or pool antifreeze through it, however the best thing to do is bring it inside.

Is timer the problem

I would think whatever is hooked up to the timer is bad. Not the timer itself. Disconnect/unplug the pool pump from the timer and see if the timer trips the breaker.

Timer cuts on , but will not turn off

assuming that this is a mechanical timer with set points for off and on red points turn on and black points turn off. set the red point for your on time and then be sure to set black point for off. Best to tighten 1/8 turn (slightly) with pliers so it does not slip

The white wire has come off of the timer. There are two possible spots open on the timer. Which one do I use?

1) Copy following links to help identify timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Boxtype.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Intermatic-timers-and-manuals.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Woods-timers-and-manuals.html

2) Add a comment and at least give us a hint about your timer.

Is this a box timer, or in-wall timer, sprinkler timer, spa timer, pool timer, low voltage power pack, plug-in timer, delay timer, cycle timer, digital timer, analog timer... etc.
Describe timer in detail.
What voltage are you using? 120, 208, 230, 240, 277, 480, 600 etc.
What does timer control?
Is this for a nuclear power plant, or kitchen light bulb, or 3-phase motor, refrigerator defrost, freezer defrost, swimming pool heater, etc.

I need to know how to set this timer for a large swimming pool, and how long I need it to run, to keep it clean. I believe it is about 35,000 gals., in-ground pool.

You have Intermatic mechanical timer connected to swimming pool pump/filter.
Open following link to read about setting timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/How-to-operate-and-set-T104-timer.pdf
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
Lift and rotate dial until current time is lined up with stationary pointer.
Put on-off trippers on outer edge of dial.
Timer comes with 2 sets of trippers, and you can order replaceable trippers. Up to 12 sets of trippers can be added to dial for a total of 12 ON and 12 OFF events each 24-hour period.
For 35000 gallon, pump should run at least 6 hours each 24-hour period. During freezing weather, if pipes are above ground, you can remove trippers from dial, set override lever to ON position, and run pump 24-hours to prevent frozen pipes.
