Phillips Easy Link Not working

I have a phillips lcd, model 47PFL7422D/37, hooked up to an HD Tivo. I just bought a phillips home theater system (HTS) model HTS3566d/37 which advertises easy link, where HDMI CEC compliant deviced can all be controlled with one remote. the HTS menus have options for it to go to standby with the tv, and for the tv to control its volume. this would be very useful, but i have not been able to get it to work. i spoke with phillips and they have no idea what their Easy Link system is even about.

Similar problem. I have the 42PFL7403D/F7and the BDP7200 (Blue Ray Player). The power off and play functions seem to enact the correct reactions in the other units, but I cannot control the TV Channels or the TV volume from the Blue Ray Player Remote, even thought those are supposed to be functions that Easy Link provides. The light on the LCD flickers when I use the buttons, but the actions never happen on the LCD.

SOURCE: Phillips HTS3566D Home Theater/Comcast DVR 3 Device remote

I have the same problem. The only time that I can get it to work is whenever I turn on the cable box the home theater system turns on too. When I use the DVR it will turn it on too and want to play the CD/DVD. I have a Comcast Motorola DCH3416 DVR box.

Have you had any thunderstorms recently in your area? if so, this could be a pulse sent threw your system form an electrical storm. this happens often during dangerous thunderstorm activity. Also, your electrical wiring in your home can produce this as well due to a faulty circuit breaker box or lose ceiling fan hook ups. the best scenario could be a defective product. this way, you can get a full refund or a replacement set up.

Set up

The specs I am reading online are saying that it has digital coax connection. If your hooking up hd cable or hd satellite box some of those have a digital coax output on them. If your hd cable/satellite box only has optical out the system you have says it comes with a optical to coax converter which is pretty cool. So you should definately be able to hook up that sound system to your cable/sat box digitally for best sound. The only other way would be to run stereo red, white cables from your cable/sat box to your stereo as a last resort.
