SOURCE: loud squeal during wash and spin cycles, maytag atlantis washer

Squealing normal occurs due to belt slippage. I would check your belts (look for cracks. Check the belt tension as well, most washers have an adjustment, normally on the motor that allows you to increase the tension of the belt.

If part of a belt gets torn and it is long enough, it will hit any part of the washing machine within range and make a clicking noise at every revolution of the motor.

I am pretty sure you need new belts. You should be able to remove a few screws and open the back cover. Between the pulleys there is a tensioner...loosen that so you can remove the belt easily. replace it with a new belt and adjust the tension.

hope this helps

SOURCE: Noise during spin cycles

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.

SOURCE: grinding sound during spin cycle

Is this a front loading machine? Also whats the model number when you open the door? If this is a front loading machine and you haven't been using HE soap, it's almost certain it's the brearing.

Asko WCAM1812 makes noise when draining

I recently had this same problem. There is a spinning wheel inside the pump that has likely detached from the motor. Upon removing the back of the unit, you will see a water pump on the bottom left of the unit. There are three screws attaching the pump to the rest of the assembly, remove the screws and detach the motor, out should pop out a red spinning wheel. I Gorilla glued mine back on, and it sounds better than before the grinding noise.

Clothes are still wet after full spin cycle

Possible that the SPIN Speed is too low, check the drive, the RPM of the motor. Check for friction of the spindle , check for free movement of the drum. If you notice a change then you will need to reset the mechanism. If the motor speed is low check the capacitor.

Kenmore 90 plus series washer won't spin, barely agitates, will drain - but makes loud noise

It sounds like the transmission is done. Can't pinpoint what it is exactly, but I would start there.

12 year old magic chef washing machine is making a lot of noise during spin cycles (with and without clothes in it) Kindof like a constant grinding/knocking. What should I do? Is it an expensive...

If you grab the bowl of the washer and try to spin it back and forth, does it feel loose and sloppy?

If so it is probably a bearing which might not be the easiest thing for you to change if you've never done it before. It shouldn't be very expensive, especially if you can take the machine apart and have it ready for the repair man.

Washer is making a grinding noise

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

The balance sensor is likely failed.

Check the shock absorbers and springs for breakage.
