You may want to get a diagnoses done on the set. You may have a faulty power supply (probably just a capacitor)output. Or you could have a failure on the main board.

Vizio M550SV no sound. Is there an audio card or does the main board have to be replaced?

See page 8 here:

From the top
- HDMI - both Audio and Video come from device via one cable.
- RF Coaxial (aka CATV) - both Audio and Video come from device via one cable.
- 15 Pin Dsub (they are calling it RGB), Video comes from this cable and Audio is from a dual 1/4" plug (looks like a headphone wire at both ends).
- Component (this is true RGB) uses RCA type cables - two sets of cables, cable one has 3 RCA at each end and they are color coded, as follows Red/Green/Blue, cable two has two RCA color coded as follows White/Red. Cable one is Video, and cable two is audio, total of 5 connections at source and 5 connections at tv.
- Composite AV - one cable set, coded as follows - Red/White/Yellow, Red/White are audio and Yellow is video.
Hope this helps.

How to conect my wiring tv cabale to my stereo component

For a simple stereo connection If you have a spare set of inputs (CD, AUX, video but NOT Phono/LP) on your receiver, preamp or whatever makes your speakers make noise that accept a pair of red/white RCA type inputs connect the OUTPUT of either your cable box, satellite receiver or TV audio Left & Right (red & white RCA jacks) to the INPUT of your receiver. If your cable or satellite receiver has a digital OUTPUT (either optical or coaxial) and your receiver has a like INPUT and 5.1 surround sound capability you can connect that to give you a surround sound mix.

How to connect dvd red white cables

several types of connections possible:

A unit with yellow, red and white is yellow is video, red and white are left and right audio.

This is called COMPOSITE as all video/color are on yellow and red and white only for sound or audio.

If the DVD has RED,GREEN, and BLUE the hookup must be to similar connections on the set---this is called COMPONENT and green carries the video and red and blue the information for those colors.

Let me know if issues or questions as I am here to help you

Cant get audio when i hook up my dvd player to my new LG hgtv

Ok, hi, I imagine that you are hooking up vis the HDMI, in SOME sets you also need to use the RED & WHITE Audio OUT, to Audio IN, as some HDMI's do NOT support the Audio, (They should though).
If connecting up COMPONENT Video, the Blue, Green & red, connections, then also too you need to run the Red & White, stereo audio output too.

The only other way is the COMPOSITE Video, the Yellow connection jack, here too you also need to run the Red & White Audio again.

Also ensure you sound is turned up Via the TV's remote, Also the DVD's Audio output must be set too, as BOTH will control the sound, and BOTH must be set to allow sound to be heard.
If you have all this correct, then you may have an issue with your DVD, if possible please try on another set, to prove it all actually works.

Toshiba CN36X81 television.. NO Sound... Great Picture. Using the TV2 output of a DISH Network HD receiver... TV2 output is std def, coax output. Using a different TV I get picture and sound... but not...

IF coming in via, the "Dish" networked receiver, please check that this volume is turned way up, on the TV. and then control the the Volume, with the Dish Remote, often this is a problem, as one is turned down, and the other cannot turn that up, simply try syncing the Volume controls, UP on TV, control the Audio with dish remote. thats all i can think of. Check by feeding a signal IN from an AV, source, ie: Yellow, Video, & Red& White, Audio. Turn TV UP and check, IF it responds to this all is well. If NOT then you do indeed have a fault, with the TV.

Only front and center speakers work, not surround.

If by white noise do you mean the test tone generated by the receiver? If so, this is actually pink noise and it is internally generated by the receiver. I would make sure either in the menu or on the remote that you haven't accidently turned off the surrounds and double check the wiring to the surrounds. Good luck.

Setting up mintek 100 dvd player to cable box to tv

Newer TVs have multiple inputs. Mr Mark is correct, you generally do not daisy-chain Audio/Video units unless you are using a recording device. Cable box to Cable input on TV. DVD player to other inputs.

Let's get some terminology out of the way. Specifically for the Mintek DVD-1600. There are NO inputs.

Coaxial Audio out (orange) is for digital audio only. Usually connects to stereo reciever for Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Not for TV.

S-Video (black w/4 small holes, 1 square) is for better quality video than composite. Use this to TV instead of Composite if you have a S-Video input on your TV.

Composite (Yellow) Older video input type. Works just fine. Connect to TV.

Audio Output ( Red & White) for analog stereo only. Goes to TV. Red=right, White=left channels.

Component Video Out (Blue, Green White) is the newest video output type in this unit. Better than S-Video. Use this option if available on your TV instead of S-Video or component.
