Question about LG Refrigerators
The proper "name" of the fridge is: LG GR-S642AQ IceBeam Smart Fridge. It is a563 Litre fridge, with the freezer compartment on top of the fridge. About a month ago water just started appearing spontaneously around the door of the fridge. I've owned it for about 5 years, and it has never done this before.

SOURCE: leaking freezer into fridge
Hi, What has happened is that the drain hole in the freezer has frozen up and the defrost water is dripping into the fresh food area.
Remove the floor panel and the rear fan cover in the freezer and you see the ice that is blocking the drain.
Be carefull when removing the ice. DO NOT use a sharp object. The best way is to use a hair dryer.
Once you locate the drain hole, you will need to melt the ice down in the drain hole too. For this, you can use the hair dryer or poor a few glasses of hot water (sopping up the water between each glass).
What you will need to do after the drain is open is to put an after market drain heat transfer kit on to prevent this from reaccuring.
Please let me know if this is the case and I can get you the right part# or even send you the part.

Your defrost thermostat is broken and needs to be replaced. Here is a link.. your freezer is located differently but you can still use this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQS3pNQFXAo&feature=related
