SOURCE: my cuisinart coffee maker leaks

Cuisinart – leaking from bottom
There is a tube inside that is melted, damaged - cannot get this part from manufacturer. I would call Cuisinart to see if you are still in warranty.

SOURCE: can't get milk to foam

How long have you had the machine? Use a straight pin and poke the opening of the wand. It may be blocked. If the bottom of the wand can be removed, use some pliers, and CAREFULLY remove it, soak it in hot water. Rinse it thoroughly, and replace it back on the machine. If you cannot remove the wand, turn the machine upside down, and check the opening to the wand. It most likely is stopped up. Run vinegar and water through your machine once a week. Calcium build up does the same thing. Good luck! Happy Lattes!

SOURCE: can't get milk to foam

Place 1/3 part distilled white vinegar and 2/3 part water into the water reservoir. Turn the machine on and wait for the heat light to go off. Once the heat light goes off, turn the steam vs. water knob to the water drop icon, and turn the main function knob to steam/water. Make sure to have your frothing cup underneath the steam element ready to catch the water. The vinegar/water solution should clear out the calcium that clogs the steam element. Also, remove the cover to the steam element and dip it in a bowl with vinegar for about 5 minutes, and use something like a pipe cleaner to clean out that cover. Then apply vinegar and hot water to a rag and clean the calcium off the shaft of the steam element. Once you are all finished with this, run plain water through the espresso maker on the steam/water setting to clear out the bitter vinegar residue. Now, try again to make espresso and froth it.

Since milk contains calcium, the steam element has to be decalcified more often than a regular coffee maker. The EM-100 is a beautiful machine, but it is definitely high-maintenance - you will probably spend more time cleaning it than making cappuccino, etc.

Good luck!

SOURCE: My cuisinart cofee maker is clogged. Water goes

If you pull out the plastic stem on the back left side, you can access the filter at the bottom. The filter can be popped out of this piece, washed and replaced.

Hi.It needs to be looked at by a repairer. Could be a blockage in the water system or the main ECU board has a fault. The pump maybe faulty or a sencor mabe faulty. A repairer can fix it for you. Dazza REPAIRER

Cuisinart 12-cup grinder coffemaker all gummed up

It is endemic to this unit - condensation builds up in the grind chute, which makes the grinds stick to the walls of the chute. Decalcifying with vinegar/water helps, but only in an indirect way - by keeping the inside tubing clean, decalcifying generally allows the water to flow through the machine without obstruction. Inside tubing that has calcium, lime deposits built up obstructs water, and makes it flow through the machine slower - when water flows more slowly through the machine, the machine steams off the water at a higher rate, hence more condensation builds up in the grind chute walls.

Generally, i have found all Cuisinart coffee and espresso makers to be high maintenance to a greater or lesser extent, but the Grind-n-Brews have the highest cleaning/maintenance requirement.

Cuisinart grind and brew--water does not come down

If the water is not coming out of the filter basket, and is instead leaking over the edges, then replace the brew basket.

If there is no water at all, call Cuisinart - those coffee makers have a 3-year warranty.

Make sure there is water in the reservoir. Take the water reservoir out of the back and reposition it. Turn the power button on - wait for the heating light to go off - then turn the dial to the icon that looks like a coffee cup. Water should come through.
