nestor, on the posted model, you want to drop the lower front panel. Take a puddy knife and push in on the clips on each side and it will pull off. Kill the power to the dryer. On the right you will see the heater housing. The housing will have a front deflector. You can remove that deflector by removing the screw on the bottom or simply just bend it down out of the way. Remove the 2 wires on the left that attach to the element itself. On the left side of the housing there will be a quarter inch screw that holds the element in place. Use a small socket set to get it off. Now the element will pull right out of the housing. Sometimes they are difficult to pull out but it will come out. Did you ohm out that element to make sure that was the culprit? Catriver.

My Kenmore Dryer Model # 96551220 does not run. Heating coil is fine.

When u say it does'nt run do u mean it doesn't spin??? if so ur belt is probably broken..about a $10.00 part an easy fix with a handy friend...if u mean it does'nt heat then it could be a thermal switch if it not the element....the switch is pretty cheap also and is located behind the panel in the back of the dryer...is usually white and an easy replacement as well...

Kenmore series 70 dryer will not heat up replaced heating element thermostats check ok with ohm meter

If heating element was replaced and still no heat, Then what I would do is test the voltage current in the wiring and see if there is actually power to the element.

All parts to make dryer heat are:
heating element
thermal fuse
thermostat
timer

any one of these units can be faulty

I think you've got your bases pretty well covered. I don't see a reason for you to replace the hi-limit as well. At less than an ohm, I see no reason to bother with it.
