Question about GE Profile 26.6 cu. ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Dispenser TFX27PRBWW

GE Side by Side with leaky water inlet valve

Your answer to my original question was VERY helpful. You mentioned that getting the model number would also help to make sure it's the correct part. So the model number is TFX22JRZB AA and the serial number is 232182. I did look up the part number you gave me and although I didnt do a direct compairson since the valve is still on the fride it look VERY close with maybe the exception of the bracket ?

YOU HAVE BEEN A GREAT HELP !!

Can I bypass the filter entirely the water is already filtered and have the incoming waterline go direct into the Dual Inlet Water Valve?

the purpose of the line running up and down again is provide the chilled water (as evidenced by "dual water valve) there is nothing saying that even if the original line is encased in the foam insulation , the new one cant run up the outside of the back case , its just not going to be chilled any longer , but would eliminate the leak in the line that's internal (inside foam) you will have to come up with your own type of tube connectors as I do remember that the factory ones use crimped clamps , and no they cant be reused again if removed

I have a GEmodel GFSF2HCYAWW french door bottom freezer model. The ice maker seems to not be getting cold enough, resulting in drippin water that freezes all cubes that do form into one huge clump o

Sounds like your water inlet valve is leaky. Go to repairclinic dot com AnD type in your model number. they will have a fixit kit with all the icemaker gear in it for the big bucks, as well as the individual parts separately. Check that your fill hose has not failed or that the icemaker mech assembly is not cracked or broken.

The problem you described is most times the=> 2188778 Water Inlet Valve

on the ice maker side of the 2188778 Water Inlet Valve What happens is the valve turns off electricall but the mechanical part of the 2188778 Water Inlet Valve leaks ozzing water by the valve while off like a leaky faucet. The solution is to replace the water control valve. I will be here to answer any questions you have Thanks Sea Breeze

Water dispenser will not stop

Your water control valve is stuck open because of defective microswitch in door dispenser. (Behind where you press your glass) or the water control valve that opens when dispenser is pressed is stuck open due to particals of debris caught in the dual water control valve. For example the=> PSS26MGPACC Item 72 in photo or in dual water control valve itself=> Dual Water control Valve

My water dispenser doesn't work. I have ice. Water comes up to the valve at the bottom of the freezer and then stops. What should I do?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Since you did not provide a model number I can not provide you an exact parts source.
Here is what you can do to trouble shoot. Open the back fiber board cover on the bottom rear of the unit. Unplug the unit for 15 minutes (compressor stabilization time) Locate the inlet water valve and swap the power connectors to the solenoids. I.e ice to water in door. Plug in the refrigerator Then depress briefly the water in door switch with a glass. NOTE: The ice maker will start to fill. If the icemaker starts to fill then all of the door wiring is good and the water inlet valve solenoid has failed or is stuck. Unplug the refrigerator and wait 15 minutes before re-applying power. Return the inlet water valve solenoid wires to the original installed positions.

Here are sources for the water inlet valve:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com (enter the model number at the top of the page and use model search)

Also here:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com (Enter model number)

If you need more assistance I will gladly help you. Jest respond to this post.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Water overflowing into ice bin and down back wall of freezer. Replaced icemaker and water inlet valve . Model is GE Adora DSF25KGTABG. Water pressure is 55 lbs.

Sounds like the condensate drain line in the rear of your freezer is blocked. Every time the freezer goes into defrost this most likely will happen until we clear the blockage. I will help if you like. Now you mentioned the water pressure. that too is very high and I would consider having that looked at. But if you turn the water off it stops?
Let me know, Sea Breeze

GE side by side; model # TFX25JRYD Serial #

So the dispenser is getting water. Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.

If the valves clicks but water doesn't get to ice maker the fill tube can be stopped up with ice.The water inlet valve on the back of the unit where the water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill tube.

Leaky Water Valve Inlet

The part number for the valve for a pss26msrss is:
WR57X10032 it is around $45.00-$50.00. There are several look ups available but you need a complete model number that you will find on the refrigerator usually inside upper fresh food section. you can order at repairclinic.com, sears .com ... or you can google appliance parts and see what you come up with. You might also try a local appliance store. Good Luck.
