Removing water despenser on Kenmore 79575196401 fridge
I need to remove the front panel of door water dispenser in my Kenmore 79575196401 side by side fridge. The fridge i beeping randomly and changing the temperatures. I already changed the main board and now think it has to be bad or dirty contacts on the control panel. There are no screws on it and I don't want to break it, so I am looking for instructions on how to remove it.

This is an LG made machine, ther eis no simple way off, youll need to pry it off form the edges, no screws hold it, merely plastic tabs and pressure. I hate this dispensor for this reason , but the dozen or so i removed, i havent broken any yet. pry slowly and youll get it

You are correct, The door panel would need to be removed to access the dispenser. Be-careful of the ground wire and the waterline that is/will be exposed when you removed the panel. they are easily damaged if your in a rush when removing the panel. Remove all screws, start removing panel on hinge side first (thats where the waterline and ground wire is) then it will come off easy. Good luck
Hello, sounds to me that the line inside of the door is cracked. Their is no easy way to repair that, either the entire door must be disassambled to replace that line,or replace the outerdoor panel with the line embedded into it,to replace the door panel it requires transfering all the compentents fmor old to new door panel, a partial list of things that must be transfered parts from old to new outer door include but not limited to inner door panel door gasket dispenser asm (which cant come out as one piece and must to disassabbled into appx. 20 parts) wiring hinges door handles
lift up & out on the drip tray (it will come out) after removing it you will see 3 screw. unscrew the screws & lift the face plate of the despenser & it will come off. Be careful though. There is a ribbon wire connected to the back of the face plate. make sure to dissconect the ribbon wire from the control board not the back of the face plate (its alot harder to reconnect to the face plate & pretty simle to reconnect to the control board).
1. Remove the switch cap and unsnap the two (2) tabs at the bottom of the front cover from the
housing first. Pull the bottom out and lift and the front cover from the housing. (Fig. 27)
2. Remove the two (2) hex-head screws securing the metal control panel cover to the dispenser
housing. This will also free the control bracket from the housing although it will remain tethered
to the freezer door by the wiring harness. (Fig. 28)
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the terminals
on the switches and light fixture in the control bracket.
Removing the Dispenser Assembly
1. Do the previous three procedures.
2. Remove the eight (8) hex-head screws securing
the dispenser housing to the freezer door. (Fig. 29)
3. Carefully pull the housing from the door.
4. Pull the water supply tube from the top of the dispenser housing.
5. Pull the wiring harness leads from the dispenser housing.
6. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors to the electric
foil heater that should get you in there
You will need to unplug the fridge or unplug the wires going to the dispenser from behind the grill at the bottom of the fridge.
Pop off the front cover over the switches and pop off the soft button cover that you mash to activate the dispenser.
You will see the screws that hold the dispenser assembely to the housing. remove them and the unit will slide toward you.
Post back if you need more help, I may have forgotten a step somewhere.
