Question about LG DLE2512W Electric Dryer
My LG dryer turns on automatically whenever the door is shut. I imagine there is a relay somewhere, probably on the control board, that is stuck. I'd like to take a look, but am not sure how to go about disassembling the dryer.

DLE2532W is an electric heat model. (a gas model would be a DLG......) To get a rear control LG dryer apart: Open door and remove two phillips head screws at the 5 and 7 o'clock positions. Use a putty knife to release the clips holding the top panel to the dryer front by pushing the clips in at the seam of the dryer top and front, a couple inches in from each side. Swing top back. Remove two phillips head screws at the top, allowing front panel to pull forward. Unplug drum light and door switch and drum sensor plugs, allowing front panel to be completely removed and set aside. Now, look at the burner area at the lower right. Behind the gas valve you will find a small (about dime sized) high limit thermostat on the left side of the burner cone. It has two wires attached and has a small pin in the center of it. (Only on gas models) Push the pin in.
Now, if that get's you ignition again, CORRECT VENTING ! Get rid of flexible vent material. (use only rigid aluminum vent pipe and elbows) Clean out vent pipes and outside vent hood. Outside vent hood should be the kind with a four inch flap for the opening, not a two inch flap. Tripping of the high limit thermo is almost always caused by inadequate air flow.

Your problem seems to be the timer switch is faulty.
Timer switches are normally non-repairable. You would need to replace the faulty switch

Hello welcome to FixYa. The service of LG dryers is mostly from the front, with some at top, but you may have an easier time by taking it off the washer, its your call. How is the dryer mounted/secured to the washer ? Have you ruled out it isn't simply "bouncing" thus creating a tapping noise on the washer top ? If you have and the noise is from the front left, it is either a leveling leg, component of the drive assembly, or the blower/exhaust housing, you'll need to get inside to investigate. As far as tear-down/repairing most LG dryers is essentially the same. If you hang tight I will put together a generic LG step by step "how to" with pictures that will guide you through it. It is all from the front...virtually nothing is done from the back anymore. I'll wait for you reply to see if you're OK hanging tight since I won't have access to my PC until morning ( approx 8am mtn time ). Regards, Macmarkus :)

SOURCE: How to change a belt
UNPLUG the dryer. Take the front kick panel off. Take the door off. Lift the top and rest it on something. Remove whatever is in front of the drum. Remove the drum. While you have everything apart check for worn pulleys and rollers. Place new belt around drum, and replace drum. Make sure belt is around the tension pulley. Replace everything in reverse order. Plug the dryer in and you should be ready to go.
