1.)Open BitDefender Antivirus in Expert Mode,
2.)click on the Antivirus module
3.)under the Shield tab click on the Advanced Settings button.
(BitDefender Active Virus Control Settings window should be displayed)
4.)adding an exclusion for Rosetta Stone solved the problem
If you have any other antivirus software
adding an exclusion for Rosetta Stone solved the problem.

Make sure that your device is set as your default device by making sure that there is a green check mark next to the device. If not, right click and select "set as default device" (or something like that... I have vista and not win7)
If that does not work, right click on the headphones and go to "Properties" then go and under the "General" tab, change the name of the device to "Microphone HS" For some reason, Rosetta Stone does not recognize the headset unless it has the word "Microphone" in its name... Kinda stupid if you ask me. Hope that helps...

The disk may be defective or there may be other problems that cannot be diagnosed given the information that you have provided. The best solution would probably be to call Rosetta Stone's free tech support directly at 1-800-767-3882. They can provide step by step problem solving and can help you find a solution.

I solved by going to Control Panel, Sound, Recording, then click on your mic and click on Configure, and then Set up microphone... Thats probably going to fix your problem... That easy... xD
