Support will not help you in this situation.

DO NOT USE YOUR COMPUTER!!
Anything it writes to the hard disk (including virtual memory) reduces the chances of that data being recovered.

There is some software out that that can recover lost data.
Recover My Files is one such piece of software :-
http://www.recovermyfiles.com/

However it is not free. A license costs about $60, It is however one of the better data recovers out there.
There is a free version on the site but if I recall it will only recover files under 700k, if at all (It has been several years since I have used it).

Another option you have is to google data recovery software, sooner or later you will find some decent free data recovery programs.

Whichever data recover program you use remember to run it from another drive, so you don't accidentally over-write your data during the install.

Good luck

How to reset lenovo thinkpad r61?

Hi,

Please follow the steps below to reset the lenovo to factory settings
Note: All your data will be lost. So keep that in mind.
So take the backup of your data first in a separate HDD or flash drive.

1. Switch off the Computer
2. Press the power button and then immediately start tapping f11 key on the top of your keyboard.
3. You will hear a beep sound and then stop pressing it.
4. You will get the screen says windows is loading files. Wait untill it finishes.
5. Select the default language which is US and Click on next .
6. Enter your login credentials (username and password) if you use to login to the windows.
7. Then you will get the system Recovery Options screen where you need to select the last option "Lenovo Product Recovery"
8. Again preferred language will be English US and hit Next.
9. Accept the terms and conditions and hit next and then hit Yes on the warning.
10. Then it will start resetting the Lenovo Think pad to the factory default with no previous data. Same as when you purchased it.

Hi,

try using ActiveBoot suite v5.0.5, when turnig on your computer. This program will scan your computer and show u all the errors, missing files, wrong dll,...and repair them. It worked very well for me as I had a TROJAN virus on my Toshiba satellite 300 and couldn't even boot anymore.
After that try use the RegistryBooster tool witch solves every windows problems.

I hope this will help. Good luck :)

Lenovo r61 keeps on freezing after login

It is also important to remove the suspicious applications and programs in the computer to avoid Windows freezing. In this type of infection not only your Windows registry gets corrupted and needs massive repair but also there is virus based penetration in the Windows set up. In this situation it is recommended to conduct a virus scan as well. However, if your Windows freezes up, the best solution is to repair the computer registry.use registry cleaner reg in out
computer restarting Click Start and Open the Control Panel 2. Go to System and Maintenance, Click on System. 3. Select Advanced System Settings and choose Advance tab. 4. Under Startup and Recovery, click on Settings. 5. Under System failure uncheck Automatically restart. Another cause for random reboots is that the computers processor is getting too hot. To check this, enter the computers bios during boot (usually by pressing Delete, F1 or F10 when the computer just starts) and there will be an option about the computers temperature (often under "PC Health"). U can have registry error.Run a registry cleaner reg in out

Check the cables from the speakers. Are you sure your installing the right driver? Check to see if the volume on the card is mute or low.

Slow processing and start up on thinkpad r61

sounds like you have too much data on your hard drive and possibly too much stuff starting up with your computer so use jkdefrag, msconfig, startup control panel and ccleaner to clear and clean up the data on your laptops hard drive.

Use ccleaner first which you can get here
and then defrag your hard drive afterwards using
jkdefrag which is here

msconfig you can access by going to start --> run and type msconfig and press enter or click on ok and then go to the startup tab and stop things running that you dont need to run although using startup control panel which is here would be a lot easier and better as you can check the run keys in the registry as well as the startup and run once keys and make sure only the things you need to run at startup are actually booting up.

Once you have done that see if it is any better and post back
