Question about Dishwashers

Open Question

Further to my open question for my Asko N516 D5131 SS dishwasher I have been able to successfully press the wash setting cycle, which was before frozen on 'rinse and hold' . I then press the on/off. Button the time shows but as soon as I press it to start the dishwasher the screen changes to three horizontal curly lines and nothing further happens... It won't start. Please , I do hope somebody can give me advise. I cannot get to the power plug as it appears pot be located behind the unit which is under the bench.

SOURCE: Dishwasher

Check to see if you have any switches on your dishwasher that could by pass a rinse cycle. Use a hotter temparture when washing, Check your water level, check your filters on your inlet hose top and bottom. When it gets to a rinse cycle you should hear it drain out and bring in fresh water. you could change to a liquid detergent. Dont over load your dishwasher. make sure you are using rinse aid and try adjusting it up one setting. Shiney glasses means your rinse add is working. NZL

SOURCE: Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.

SOURCE: Dishwasher lights blinking

QuietGuard3: Clean light flashing 7 times? Press Heated Dry, press Normal Wash, then press Heated Dry again and press Normal Wash again (that's 4 button-presses) and that should fix it.

I suspect for either of these units that the timer control boards are bad.

SOURCE: Our Asko dishwasher will not shut off when we open

Hello,
Welcome to fixya. Based on your description and trusting it is indeed an Asko 1796, I'd suspect you have a door switch "accuator" sticking ( control pin as identified by Asko. pin part #80 575 42, switch part # 80 554 73 ). This has been a random occurrence with Asko dishwasher's since they went to this design around 1994 or so. If the dishwasher doesn't stop when you open the door as you stated, here's a possible remedy you can try on your own. Make sure the unit is off first. **Turn the breaker off at your home service panel before attempting any service suggested here on 'fixya"...safety first" This procedure I'm going to suggest can be done easiest and more accurately by removing the control panel for better access as well as to visually inspect other component. It can also be done without removing the panels by identifying the small round "pin" in the the door latch channel ( where the latch goes into the door when closed )...i.e. 94bd9a4.jpg ...with the aid of a small screwdriver, tooth-pick, ear swab etc. add some vasiline or grease to the top of the pin working it in via pushing the pin up & down...I recommend removing the panels though. To do this... Open the door and along the top you'll see "T20" torx head screws. Remove just the screws for the console/control panel, you must also be careful as the edges of these panels are sharp ( auto-mechanics protective gloves are good for this ). Once off you can see the micro-switch and the small "pin" I was referring to earlier much easier. cd7bb1b.jpg Tilt the entire panel towards you slightly, just enough to work with ( careful not to undo any wires, or take pictures as you go ). Apply some grease or silicone lube to the shaft of the pin/accuator and work it in really thoroughly. I find it easier to remove the plastic cover & micro-switch out of it`s bractket to allow a little room to work i.e. e09a335.jpg ...careful not to let the plastic pin fall out. Where I pointed my finger in the image below is where to apply the lubricant. 03cb0a9.jpg Re-attach the control panel and you can test it before itstalling all the screws. Let me know if you require further assistance. Thanks for coming to fixya, please take a moment to rate the help you received. Good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Why is it not cleaning dishes?

Contact one of the Asko authorised repairers in your area and they will be able to tell you the likely cause provided the water in your machine is heating up to the correct temperature and not trying to wash luke warm and without the powder dissolving properly.

Set the machine for a hot wash and stop it and open the door mid wash cycle and check how hot the water is. It should be extremely hot and you should get a mass of steam rushing out when you open the door.

Is my asko d1776 repairable. It's currently not going into wash mode. The Blade are not turning and washing.

The motor is not getting switched on at the proper time. The timer / cycle selector is the problem and is easily repairable.

There is an Asko D3112 on our office. I've been

it is programmed to continue where it left off. It is best to remove chunks of food from plates rather than rely upon the rinse system.

ASKO 1605

Hi Guys
My dishwasher this morning has desided to not work correctly.
Its a ASKO 1302 about 20 years old. It has been a very good machine.
Over the last couple of weeks during the washing cycle, the dishwasher has been making a loader noise than usual.
1. Today, the dishwasher timer, travels all the way through its cycle, but very little washing take place.
2. Soap power is still there, plates not clean!!!!
3. Water is hot
4. At the end of the cycle, there is no water in the dishwasher.
5. I'm thinking the problem could be the pump needs replacing.
What do you think?

Asko 1585 wash cycle goes continuously until manually shut off

it may be a heating problem, does it get hot at all, or over heat.may be a thermistor fault.remove the door skin and see if rinse aid has leaked onto the wiring.or the board itself cauld be faulty, but are very expensive.hope this helps.
