Trash your Quark Prefs and relaunch. You may need to confirm the library has not gone corrupt.

It could be that your quark preferences have corrupted, I would go to your users folder then go into the library folder, then the preferences folder and then the quark folder within the quark folder there should be a file called "XPress Preferences.prf" move this to the trash (But do not delete it yet). When you open quark next it will recreate the preference file and hopefully that will sort it out. If this has corrected the problem you can then deleted the file in the trash. Please note that you will have to reset your preferences once you open Quark again.

Hope this helps.

I am using QuarkXpress 6.5 which was working fine until yesterday. But since today morning, I am not able to open it, neither does my .qxd/.qxp document open. Please help asap. I am on a deadline.

Went to open a 80 page file that I had been working on just a few hours before and it wouldn't let me open - Error 16 - can't be opened by this version of Quark.

try opening the same on another system and then check if it opens up.

there is also a tool available Markware which can repair the corrupted documents

File will not open - ?Unexpected end-of-file encountered?

I had this problem also. Found software from MarkzTools to recover Quark files. You may also want to try having someone with Quark 7 see if they can open the file.

Placing a jpg file error 69 pops and i can't see image.

Try opening the file in Photoshop, copy the image to a new document and save. It might solve your problem. ps There are lots of different .jpg standards, other files like .tif are more stable.

Quark 6.5 error code 10660

Just open the file once and save it and it should work.

You can also try adding a .qxp extension to it and then try opening the file
