SOURCE: Hayward Navigator gets stuck at wall

I have had the same Navigator for many, many years. I have replaced it's guts, pods, feet and gears whenever things wear out. I have a vinyl pool and it works great. I had a problem with it charging into the wall and just sit there beating it's feet ..... now this was my solution, and I'm surprised that Navigator has not altered the design to deal with getting stuck against a wall. This will sound CRAZY but it works great!! Take a plastic lid for a 5 gallon bucket and cut out a round-nose for the front of your navigator. The curved shape is prefect and you can notch the plastic lid and it will snug right into the Navigator body. This gives your Navigator a round-nose and it will never get stuck against a wall again.

SOURCE: My Hayward Navigator fails to get out of corners

Check your shoes and wings to make sure that they are not worn and don't have debris lodged in them. Make sure that your hose is the proper length and doesn't have obstructions. It could also be a steering failure. To check for steering failure, make sure that your rear screen is clean, make sure your cone gears are free and clean, and make sure that your gear box is clean and working properly. It is common for these pool cleaners to have one of these problems. Also, make sure that you have the proper tension in your rear flap.

My Hayward pool sweep gets stuck when it goes over the drain at the bottom of the pool

It could be worn shoes on your pool cleaner causing the problem, but it is most likely just that you need to get a ring drain cover to cover your anti-vortex drain. It creates a smoother surface and is designed specifically to work with in ground automatic pool cleaners that are getting stuck on the drain.

How to ajust to clean all pool

With no information to go on I would have to say turn the eyeball returns in the pool to point down. If you just have straight pipes coming into the pool you can get diverters to fit in them at your pool store.

POOL CLEANER GETS STUCK ON THE MAIN DRAIN

If it's an older Navigator and it just recently started to hang up on the drain cover, replace the throat assembly, part 29. The lugs or hold offs on the bottom of the assembly have worn down and are not breaking the suction as the Navigator travels over the top of the domed drain cover. Replaced mine and no longer have the "my navigator gets stuck on the main drain" problem.

I have the hayward diver dave and he just wants to go in a straight line

With these automatic pool cleaners, there are several things that could be wrong. Make sure that your shoes are not worn or installed improperly. This could cause it to not be able to change directions or climb. Also check the wings for the same problem and check the rear flap to make sure that it has the correct tension.

I have a hayward navigator pool sweep and the hoses keep curling around eachother hampering the operation. What is the cure?

Ther hoses retain memory belive it or not try putting the hose on the pool deck in a straight line for a few days if that doesnt work you have internail problems bearings, a frames and a cam witch is easily replaced but its easier to purchase a proportion and wings thats everything put togather youl just have to install it.
