SOURCE: Got new Energizer Hard Case Flashlight model IN421

Well much to our surprise the easy way is the best way. There are no instruction on the package nor on Energizer website but after googling we found reviews of the flashlight and how long it took others to find out how to put the batteries in. Although the base is square...it DOES turn and voila....comes off to insert batteries.

How to fix the switch on eveready lantern flashlight

The switch in the lantern is a press fit switch so you will destroy it when you remove it. Remove the lense and retainer ring. Remove the battery. With a pair of pliers, preferably channel lock water pump pliers crush the switch into small piece and discard. Trail Tech makes the exact water resistant switch model 040-ls-b and you can get it at Amazon or on eBay . The switch runs around $6.25 + $4.00 shipping

Flashlight

some times ,especialy in a salt air environment, the metal contacts that typycaly run along the inside of the flashlight tube, become tarnished or corroded.I suggest srips of 120 or so grit sand paper over a popcycle stic of steel wool, twisted on a stick to make a brush.note: use of anti rust oils or other solvants will losen some,But must be then cleaned for good battery connections, all poles should be clean & dry.
