Question about Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook
I tried removing the partition the ubuuntu (or take it off) and it wiped it. when i next tried to boot it up, it said it was missing an operating system. so i just recently bought windows 8 and thru a flash drive, since it has no cd/dvd rom booted it up with that! it worked, but now it is asking for a hdd password . i don't have it since i got this from a pawn shop. the hdd error code is 04213
have you tried going into the cmos settings to try and disable the password,
sometimes you can take out the cmos battery out to clear the password.
You may have to replace the hard drive, but the password may still be in the bios.
You can also google the problem and see if any one else was able to resolve the issue.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Insert OS cd in drive and start reinstalling by selecting repair mode
now once all files are loaded system will reboot when you see the Installing Devices progress bar, press SHIFT + F10
this will give you access to your account also you can reset all passwords
Now restart lappy and let the system boot normally without OS cd in drive
now you will come to old screen and previously configured desktop with all intact aplication and icons on desktop and it will no more ask you for password till you set a new one
Thanks and regards

First, if you are still running Vista on your desktop then you will need to buy a license for the laptop. Does the laptop have a WinXP on it now? If so, go here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/upgrade-advisor.aspx and run the Vista Upgrade Advisor. If not, determine the hardware specifications of your laptop and go here http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/system-requirements.aspx Compare your laptops specs to those listed for the version of Vista you wish to install.

This means that your HDD is corrupted. This could have happened if your computer was dropped and sometimes it happens even when nothing has happened to it. If you take your computer to a repairman, he will be able to fix the HDD for you. Do not attempt to open the HDD yourself as the smallest piece of dust will ruin the HDD. The repairman will open it in a 100% dust proof room.
What might have happened is that the arm in your HDD has fallen on to the magnetic part of the HDD itself. Most of the data should be able to be recovered. If your laptop is only 8 months old, it should still be under warranty so i recommend that you take it to your suppler and they should fix it for free.
Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.

Not all Dell code generators work on the the service tag ending 595B even though they state they will. Only Dell have the master password generator for that tag ending.
If you are the outright owner of the laptop and you can provide proof of purchase Dell will give you the code themselves for no fee.
If you are the owner then I suggest you give Dell customer services a call. Below is a link to Dells support website where you will get a phone number for them.
You should find it easy to use and Dell's customer service are very helpful.
