It is probably your ISP provider. They do bandwith throttling. A connection is allowed to download certin amount of data at high speed (e.g 12MB at the full speed) and then speed drops down significantly. This will allow very fast surfing as pages are less then limit, but downloading music and moview over the limit would be slowed down. Solution is to buy business type of internet access, which is more expensive.

Wireless performance problems

hard wired ethernet is much faster than wireless

When your ISP offers you a 1Mb connection, its megaBits not MegaBytes.

So for a rough guide of how MUCH you can download, divide by eight. i.e. 1Mb speed = 128KB of data.

So its normal for you to get 1.0-1.10 mbps download speed for the 10MBps connection that

you have

Download all of your favorite videos, programs, games, and music with acceleration. The CNET Bandwidth Meter tests the speed of your Internet connection against top DSL Cable modem, and other broadband services. To check your bandwidth, simply click on the download link.

hope this helps

I am using tp link td-w8901g internet speed is of 384 kbps for which i have to be able to download at maximum 48 kbps. when i use internet normally, i am having slow browsing. the download speed...

If you are paying for a downlink speed of 384 Kbps you should be getting at lease around 300. First bypass your router - connect your cable/DSL ethernet line directly from the modem to your PC. Go to run the speed test and see what your download speed is.

If it's less than 300 call your service provider & ask them to check out your line. If they say that you are getting 300 Kbps or more, you have a problem with the ethernet card in your PC. Replace it.

Of course, if your speed is OK when you bypass the router, you have a router problem. Contact the manufacturer or replace it.

Hi, problem can solved. You said you downloaded free trials?. What do you expect it will expire. You can still try and download another, but make sure you delete the old one first from your system.

If that does not solve the problem, that means you will have to download a different down loader for your system..

Go to r And search for other internet downloader there different types..

Hope ti helps.

I have port forward for my vuze program but evertime i hook the internet up i can still go on line like with ie but if i do ping test i loose packets and speeds are down to nothing, what i need to know if...

First off if you download the new version of Vuze, and your Linksys is somewhat new, it will have pnp feature. The new Vuze will automatically configure the router for you. Just in case your port forwarding only allows a few ports or your somehow blocking port 80. You didn't mention the model of Linksys, but if the router has port forwarding capabilities then it new enough to handle the amount of connections-(MAYBE) That would all depend on how many connections you've chosen on vuze's to allow per download. I would go with Vuze's defaults. I haven't had much problems with that. Even thou it's nice to download a large movie or program in 5 minutes, it's will slow down all of your IE connections. I usually download in the middle of the night, when I go to bed, I setup what I want and by morning it's done. That way your interfering with IE speeds.

There is another wireless router closebye, and it seems to make my connection unstable. Can there be some kinda interference? Keep loosing connection, or loosing connection speed.

check for the following

When you use your laptop you should be able to check for properties on the other connections, make a note on what channel they are on.

go to your wireless router and change the channel that it is broadcasting on to something different. ( ie 6 ) also check that your router is not close to dect phones as they can ruin your signal as well

Connectivity keeps going up and down. When playing video games, i loose connection because of lack of upload speed and download speed.

You have to do 4 things,,,,,
upgrade the firmware of the router
trigger the ports on the router for the caming console or xbox you have .
make the mtu to 1365
no mac filtering should be on the router ,,
and make the wireless configuration on the router manual ,,not the wifi protected setup with channel 1 ,6 ,9 or 11,,,radio band should be standard 20mhz

My ipod connects to the NetGear RangeMax WPN824 , but after a while it refuses to load internet pages and download music. for example, I was download a podcast yesterday and the download speed was fast....

It could only be an interference problem. To resolve it, you need to change the wireless channel of your router. Access the router's setup page through, look for wireless tab. Change the channel to 11 then save the settings.

Netgear rangemax wpn824 incorrecty or won't detect wireless conn.

Check ISP configuration to match Router settings with your supplier requirements.
Your issue seems related with wrong settings on Router WAN configuration.
Check if DHCP is required on your router or if it has tio be configured as a BRIDGE.
Your ISP should be ready to support you. (Or Netgear)

Slow downloading

Hi, DL managers usually split the file into many pieces, but the DL manager tries to grab many pieces at once and often there haven't been enough Ports opened to allow for this so check that also. Sometimesya ISP don't like torrents anyway and restrict that those ports into and out of ya conection..
