Question about Technics SA-DX1050 Receiver
I recently moved my 11-yr old unit to a new TV stand and it goes into overload when i turn up the volume for just a short period. It does seem to be relatively hot inside the shelf, but i can't tell if the fan is running or not. I tried leaving the door open but no luck.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

overload, usually means that is overloaded. i've had the receiver for about 4 or 5 years now and never had problems with it. It was sitting ontop on my tv for those 4 or 5 years, and i haver noticed it untill just recently, (when i bought a new tv and i had to get a stand for it, and i had to stick the receiver in it)that is runs very hot, very quickly; Maybe that is the problem you are having now, that the thins is older and maight be able to handle it as it id b4. Maybe you made some changes to your set up: new speakers, etc.

From the manual pg 27....... "The protection circuitry has functioned because the positive and negative speaker connection wires are "shorted," speaker systems with an impedance less than the indicated rated impedance of this unit are used or under severe use, such as loud volume, excessive power and in an excessively hot environment."

hello there are 2 big capacitor behind the metal heatsink see if one has swelled up if so change them both then check the output chip to see if there are any dry joints then when you've check all and still the same then you may have to change the output transistor g ood luck
