They are usually located in the power supply section. You need to refer to the circuit diagram to identify where it is located.

In onida tv d2498 and fuse in power supply gone on connecting ac.Without main board installing please help

If it's not the main board that's causing the fuse to blow then you have a short circuit somewhere in the power supply. Check things like the electrolytic capacitors. The ones that look like little cans. They should all have flat tops. If any are bulging out at the top they will need replacing. Also check the bridge rectifier which is a black component usually standing up on the board with four legs. If there is no bridge rectifier there will be 4 rectifier diodes together. They are black cylindrical items with a sliver band on one end and a lead out of each end. They are usually located near to where the mains lead enters the power board. Other things to check are power transistors, they are usually 3 legged, (sometimes 2 legs if they are used as a diode) black items with their case fixed to a heat sink (aluminium block.)

1970 CB450 charging problems. Just looking for a demonstration how to check the magneto, stator and rectifier, and maybe a quick explanation how to replace them

Being a 1970 vehicle you have the older copper oxide rectifier,if you have charging problems, that type of rectifier output usually drops to about 1/2 battery voltage. It is located under the seat between the back fender and the bottom bar that the seat rests on,also more often than not, you get a really strong odor of rotten egg smell from a defective copper-oxide rectifier. Solution, replace with a 6-10 amp bridge rectifier from Radio Shack. Your charging voltage should be in the range of 13.8 -14v@ 1500 rpm.

I have a wg2020 fluxcore welder that makes a grunting noise when trying to initiate the weld. wire runs out fine but the heat seems to be low.

T1 or T2 may be in the early stages of failure from shorting out. If you are getting a burned varnish smell that persists around the welder, that is the likely cause. Check open circuit voltage, it should measure around 24 volts. If you only measure 12 volts, the bridge has failed.

Otherwise, open it up and check all connections to make they are sound. There is a protective device on the bridge rectifier across the terminals to the ground clamp and gun. This device may be failing in a short circuit mode. Or the bridge rectifier may be failing.

In the event it is the bridge that failed, a workaround is to construct or provide a 24 volt supply to the motor speed control, move the AC connections one to the "+" and one ot the minus terminal thus bypassing the bridge rectifier completely, and use the welder as an AC welder. Or alternately a new one can be constructed from 4 high current rectifiers.

When i try to turn the cleaner on, the switch turns off right away, what is causing that?

The bridge rectifier inside the power supply is bad. You can replace it yourself if you can locate a new bridge at a local electronics store or after purchasing the part from a Dolphin service center. If you still need the item, contact us thru www.arrowpools.net for price and delivery on the item.

Thanks,
John

I have a automotive battery charger thats a Snap-On BC4200 I believe the rectifier is burnt up in it and am looking for a replacement part. Snap-On book says the part number is BC4200-2000R but it...

if you can find out the current it takes you can go online and buy rectifiers all day long they are pretty cheap too also you need find the type of rectifer like full wave, half wave, bridge rectifier. the bridge is usually the most common tho.

Alternator is pushing 20 volts

1981 used selenium rectifiers which were fairly low amperage. Not likely that overvoltage is the problem, but rather a failed rectifier and not changing to DC voltage (half wave). Get a 50-amp silicon rectifier from Radio Shack and replace it. Better yet, if you now have a headlight law in your state, change to a 50-amp bridge rectifier and gain more charging from the same alternator... be sure to get some help with the conversion from simple rectifier in-line to the battery and a bridge rectifier connecting both battery terminals to both alternator and ground.

Converting ac to dc voltage

You need to transform the voltage to a level that you require, then 'rectify' your voltage to DC, with a bridge rectifier. There are many different types of rectifiers for different uses. Look on the web for electronics, bridge rectifiers.
