SOURCE: C302ZS DOUBLE OVEN Thermador: oven was

Hi

The F34 means Upper oven cooling fan over-speed or under-speed detected. the corrective action needed in the case is to clean the cooling fan of any debris or dust, if this does not solve the problem replace the cooling fan.

Dim or faint display is a function of the drive voltages to it. A transformer creates these - and the DC voltage is stabilized by capacitors. The capacitors are only rated to 105 C - which means over time the heat will reduce the capacitors capacitance...lowering the drive voltage and diming the display.
Turn off the power - remove the keyboard panel and metal plate it attaches to. Remove the board attached to the metal plate (not the keyboard/board). Replace 3 capacitors (2 x 470 uf 35V, and one 68 uf 35v....highest temp you can get is 125 C.

How do I fix an F34 error code on a single Thermador wall oven?

If the fan is blowing, then likely a sail switch problem. If switch ok, we see control board failures that cause this also. If need be, we can rebuild the boards for you. See

What does F34 mean as an error message?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

The "F34" code on your model of Thermador double oven indicates the control has detected an error with the airflow for the upper oven ( all lower codes start with "6", upper start with "3" )

This could indicate a faulty blower motor, not coming on at all, or if it does come on and still initiates an F34 error, it is likely the sail switch is sticking. It can be removed and cleaned as they do become contaminated with dirt, grease and dust over time.

The sail switch is located at the very bottom of the ovens where the grill is, under the lower door.

example:
macmarkus_999.jpg

( F34 can also be initiated by a failed "K6" relay on the control board, but that is less likely )

It can be accessed by way of removing the grill, however it is something usually best left to an authorized B/S/H/ service provider as it can be quiet involved and is better to pull the unit from the wall.

**Turn off the 40 amp breaker to the oven before attempting any service...safety first**

B/S/H/ is the parent company for Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Siemens.

Shows #34 on display and does not function

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

The "F34" code on your model of Thermador oven indicates the control has detected an error with the airflow for the oven.

This could indicate a faulty blower motor not coming on at all, or if it does come on ( you should be able to hear it or feel it blowing out the bottom under the door if it's working ) and still initiates an F34 error it is likely the sail switch is sticking. The switch can be removed and cleaned as they do become contaminated with dirt, grease and dust over time.

The sail switch is located at the very bottom of the ovens where the grill is, under the lower door. The blower is located at the back wall of the oven plenum as illustrated here.
macmarkus_224.jpg
( F34 can also be initiated by a failed "K4 relay" on the control board, but that is less likely )

The sail switch as I mentioned can be accessed by way of removing the lower grill...i.e. macmarkus_223.jpg **Turn off the 40 amp breaker to the oven before attempting any service...safety first**
If you feel capable this is the procedure for testing the blower and sail switch as follows...At this point I recommend calling in a pro, it's your call.

Let me know if I can assist you further regarding this issue and I`ll try to be available asap.

Good luck.

I have a thermadore double oven c302or 272; both are convection recently the upper oven stall after setting and then shows F34 on the controll panel. What does this indicate, and is there an easy fix?

We had this problem a long time ago.. At the very bottom of the lower oven there is a slot.. Maybe 1" tall.. Look in there with a flash light. You will see 2 sail switches.. More then likey one of them is stuck.. The other problem could be the fan motor not running which would cause the same error.. "Fan air flow" But if you are getting flow it is probably the switch,.

Error code F64 on lower thermador oven. Works for a minute or so then beeps and F64 is showing,

Hi, i found out from Thermador customer service that error code F64 means that the lower fan switch (located inside the bottom trim on the right side) is not being detected as closed. In my case, this was because the header (P4) on the Display panel had broken loose from the PC board and was no longer making contact. P4 is where the lower fan switch wires connect to the control boards (actually the display panel).

Thermador P304CS error code 4 preheat blinks then 3 heat blinks

I wanted to post this up in case someone has trouble finding an answer and what worked for me. I found somewhere else that the 43 code (4 preheat;3heat) blinks was specific to the cooling fan or the temp sensor. I had started to remove the temp sensor off the back wall of the oven but was unsure where the wire ran to. There is a specific Ohm value it should have around 1080 I think (not 100% postive).
What I found during that search is what solved the oven problem for me. On the top of the range, if you pull off the grill grates and remove the center stainless cover you can access under the burners. You can do this without removing any wires or hardware. In the back of this area is a small cover held in by 4 screws. Remove that. Underneath it is the cooling fan switch. It is a mechanical switch that when the fan kicks on it pushes a metal sail that then causes a connection in the switch letting it know the fan is operating. This switch had a little bit of corrosion on one terminal but it is also prone to getting dirty. Clean it off and try to restart the oven. The sail should move forward and the switch makes connection. For me once it was cleaned and any corrosion cleaned off, my oven worked just fine. This is a pretty easy check with the 43 code since it does not involve a lot of invasive work. Hope this helps someone.

Oven and broiler will not stay on.lights blink

I performed this exact same repair of a Thermador Model P366CS/03 on Thanksgiving Day 2017.
It seems a bit of grease had dripped down onto the microswitch with the sail on it. The grease was enough to prevent the switch from actuating. The thing is held down with two 4-40 screws and loose nuts. Be careful not to drop the screws into the range.
Now the problem I had was getting into the top of the stove. If the burner venturies are the least bit corroded, it's very difficult to get into the top level to gain access to the switch.

Error code "43"?????

Thanks Marty for the info on the sail switch. We experience the same error code 43 problem. Seemed like the sail switch was stuck in the back position and didn't come forward when the fan started. So I bent a metal coat hanger and used it to pull the switch foward to "unstick" it. I tested the oven turning it on and off a few times and made sure that the switch moves forward with the blower fan starting when the oven was on, and moved back when the oven was turned off. Should be obvious, but make sure the blower is not running and the oven is turned off before you stick the wire hanger back there. A pretty quick and easy thing to try before calling the repairman.
