HP Colour laserjet 1600 not printing colour properly!

I have a HP Colour laserjet 1600, and it has worked fine for ages, but recently when I print colour it doesn't appear how it should.

For example, if I fill a A4 sheet with a 'Red' square, it will start off 'Yellow' on the left, then merge into the orginal 'Red' in the middle, and the finish 'Yellow' again on the right.

Anyone know why this might be?

What should be done now then? Can I fix it, or will I have to send it off for repair.

You might try cleaning the print heads with alcohol and then also make sure they still have ink in them. if they feel light then they will be close to empty if they have a little weight to them then you should be fine.

This is the technical document for your printer.
If you recently changed the cartridge, make sure it is seated properly.
If it is an older cartridge, the head may be dirty, or the ink inside the well getting bad.

If it is an older cartridge, remove it and clean the head with rubbing alcohol and q-tip.

In your PC's printer properties, also align, and clean printer heads.

If you need more help, just ask!

Sometimes a multi-color cartridge will run out of one color, or one will dry up faster than the others. Try a new cartrige, and re-post.

Also, check the fuser to be sure it is not burned near the edges.

Try to do a half test. Put a sheet of paper on the manual feeder in front and do a configuration page from the information menu. When you start the job the paper will go a little way down the slot and stop. Wait, when the printing starts and the paper moves again, wait until the back edge disappears from the bottom of the slot and open the drum door to stop the printing. Now look at the unfused sheet on the transfer belt unit. Is the defect there or not. If not your issue is the fuser. If the defect is there which I doubt, it has to be the transfer unit. My bet is on the fuser.

Possibly the Developer PCA is going bad. The toner sensor that is mounted on the rotary drive could be bad also. It gives a charge to the carousel, and toners.
I have seen Drum drawers cause this also.

if the fuser or pca are bad, yes, that is best left to a trained tech.

It is not a matter of cleaning anything, that is a faulty digital processing board.

Am confused,i want to buy a colour laserjet printer and left with only two options which one should i buy btn hp1600 and cp1525

hiii
Its depends on your printing needs.Printing quality almost same these two printers. If u buy hp 1600 u will get more pages than cp 1525.But u should think about the toner cost. Check your local market price for each toners. Here i will give u the toner model numbers for ur required printers.

hp 1600 - q6000- black,q6001,q6002,q6003 each three colours.- Page yield 2500 pages for black ,2000 pages each colours.

hp cp1525- ce-320a(128a),ce321,ce322,ce323- Page yield -2000 pages for black,1300 each colour pages.

So I am sure hp 1600 toner very costly than 1525 toner. If u dont have huge volume printing better i suggest u buy cp 1525 model. Also this model offering wirless printing .
U can refill this toners lowest cost and getting good results.
sooooooo cheeeeeeers up........select your new printer. best wishes..........

HP colour laserjet 1600: I turn on printer and it switches from initialising to calibrating withour printing documents

Does the printer ever come to ready? If not, have you recently changed any of the toner cartridges? We have had cases with generic or refilled toners that will cause the printer to not be able to calibrate.

My printer is hp laserjet cp 1515n. After printing some documents it writes "printing cool down mode" and begins working very slowly. Please help me

1515n - I have the Magenta colour 'shadowing' the blue test. A mirror image of the blue text. [slightly staggered] Black is fine. Applies to all Word docs when printing in blue - can you help please?
I only use genuine cartridges.
Thanks

We have a HP Colour Laser Jet 3600n. We have

nope...... the problem as you rightly poit out is the cartridges, most refills are poor quality and dont last, but the real ones are expensive but very rarely cause issues. If one colour is dodgy the entire colour process fails, print a square of each colour to determine which colour cart is the issue and complain to seller, 99.9% of print quality issues with these HP's is due to non gen toner....not much you can do, expensive is colour printer fullstop.

Colour registration problem (some printer loose their registration from time to time).

There will be an option somewhere in the menu system of the printer, or the HP 'Toolbox' to correct this.

I can tell you that it is NOT the Fuser unit. I would change the drum unit first. This would be the most likely cause.
