Click start control panel view devices and printers you should see your webcam from there
if you are have trouble with your webcam

Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark?
right click to reinstall drivers or update driver xp

Click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll to image devices expand right click to update driver in W7

http://download.cnet.com/2000-20_4.html
on the home page you should see a search tab just type in what you are looking for
IE: webcam name webcam driver you might have to try a few times to get it right

software if you dont have the driver you will need to download one here rather doing a driver hunt which can take hours

Windows XP/Vista/7/8

It might take some time being a freeware driver solution

note: it will find all of your outdated drivers

this is a free driver solutions

This will automatically search for and find the correct driver
you will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you

want to restart or make a system restore point click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.

But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.

Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

Hope this helps.

Try deleting the software and re-installing it or try different software all together that will detect your camera.

They are temperamental sounds like software issue.

Integrated webcam not turned on

First, you should check your Windows device manager to see if the drivers for that piece of hardware are working properly. Now if that's all cleared up, I know that on my laptop, the integrated webcam only turns on when there's a piece of software asking it to run. Try finding your manufacture's webcam software. For me, it's Toshiba Webcam Software. Run the program and see if the webcam turns on. I hope this helps!

When I bought my Eee PC 900 my integral webcam worked perfectly fine. Now I can no longer access it or locate it. How do I fix this?

Find the integral webcam's now-less-than-integral cable and plug it back in wherever it got loose. Test a spare in case the first webcam chip got killed by static in the meantime. Also, save for an iPad 3 (or a Samsung camera that runs Linux.)

I have a integrated webcam, & I recently got a logitech webcam, & it doesnt work..help!

Install the drivers for your new webcam, and attempt to disable the integrated webcam that you have. You should be able to do this by right-clicking on my computer, select manage. Then expand Device Manager, then go to imaging devices. Your new camera should show up. If there is a yellow triangle in front of the icon for your device, try going to the logitech website, and get the newest drivers for your operating system.

I plugged in a USB Webcam to my laptop which contains an integrated webcam. When I unplugged the USB webcam it switches back to integrated webcam but there is a message that says ''Close the other...

You can't have two video cameras in operation at the same time. Video cameras are known as "streaming devices" to the operating system.

You will need to go into your device manager and "DISABLE" the one camera you don't want to use in order for the other to work properly.

New samsung r519. integrated webcam works fine

est your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.

http://www.testmycam.com/

Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)

CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN
Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly.
The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted.
Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software.
If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.

Open MSN
Click 'Open Menu'
From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup'
Set your speakers
Click 'Test' - if OK, move on.
Set your mic as default
Use the slider to set volume and test.
Click 'Next'
This takes you to the video setup
Your webcam should be broadcasting - if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN
Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture.
Click 'Finish'

Webcam says to close other video streaming on dell integrated webcam

Well, there are two things you can do,
You can go to device manager, and update drivers for the integrated webcam, which would be listed under imaging devices
Or get yourself Vista!!! I am not sure whether it works with Win 7 just get it confirmed from someone about 7..
Good luck!!
