If you know how, open the 'printers folder' in your computer and delete all the printing jobs.

Switch off the printer and unplug it from the computer.
Switch off the computer.

Switch on the computer.
Connect the printer and switch it on.

Hopefully it will have cleared itself

MFC 440CN machine is displaying the wrong date / time and I can't find a way to reset it in the manual.

If you go to the last menu item, called INITIAL SETUP the Date/Time is in there.
You can then change the date using the number pad and the OK key.

Date/time stamper will not print correctly

mine is doing the same thing. I read that the 3V battery may need to be changed.... so I changed the 3V and all four AA batteries and hit reset and am still experiencing the same as you. Random **** printing when display seems okay. Never same stuff twice. Very frustrating.

Wrong time printed on fax

  1. From the machine, press the [Menu] button until 'Machine Setup' appears on the top line of the display.
  2. Press the right arrow button until 'Date & Time' is displayed on the bottom line, then press [Enter].
    1. Enter the correct time and date using the numeric keypad. By default, the machine clock mode is set to 12-hour format; however, this can be changed to a 24-hour format (see the change the clock mode section below).
    2. Month = 01 ~ 12
      Day = 01 ~ 31
      Year = requires four digits
      Hour = 01 ~ 12 (12-hour mode)
      00 ~ 23 (24-hour mode)
      Minute = 00 ~ 59
    1. note_image33x30.gif
    Note: To select 'AM' or 'PM' for a 12-hour format, press the * or # button or any number button.
    1. Once the correct date and time has been entered, press [Enter].
    2. Press the [Stop / Clear] button to return the machine to Standby mode

    Change the Day (Monday, Tuesday, etc)

    You are off by 100 years. When setting the date, cycle the year through the next century (the section that normally displays time HH:MM will show the 4-digit year).

    Printer keeps turning off,,,error message MN1 in lcd

    I realise this is an old question but I recently had a similar issue with our MFC-5860CN not receiving faxes and displaying the "Mn1" code. As it turns out "Mn1" means the machine is set to manual receive and was therefore not automatically receiving faxes. You will need to locate the "Receive Mode" option in the menu and change it to "Fax Only" or "Fax / Tel". Unfortunately I dont know what could have caused the turning off and on that the OP mentioned. I'm a little late to the party but I hope this info can help someone else!
