Black and Decker has issued a recall notice for Type 1 BV4000 because "a loose connection between the unit and an extension cord can create heat, posing a possible fire hazard" Says to STOP USING and call 1-866-853-2138 to arrange for free repair. Take out all the screws. Gently remove half of the case. Put a shim in behind the plastic pivot that rocks the switch. I rolled up a 1/2" by 3" piede of duct tape and jammed into the back of the oval socket for the rocker. This pushes the rocker against the switch hard enough so that it rocks the switch properly. Snap the case into place and test the switch before you put the screws back in to make sure it is now working properly.

I've had the same problem at work with troybuilt leafblowers. It eventually turns off as you use it yeah? It could be a little flooded and the engine isn't getting enought air. Find out where the carbeurator is, take it off, dump out the excess fuel, and spray out with WD-40 or carb and choke cleaner, make sure there's not a lot of excess fluid left and then try it. I've seen and old guy try it on a lawnmover I had that kept doing the same thing, and it fixed it just like "that".
