Question about Zanussi Washing Machines
Bought and installed this for the first time this evening, and set it up exactly as i would have done my old zanussi, which had no problems at all. As soon as i turned on the water inlet, it started filling up with water. which was interesting, as the machine was switched to "off". if i leave it for an extended period it just seems to fill up the drum, draining does work fine though. has anyone else had this problem, how can i fix it, or is it normal?
It is not normal. It's a warranty problem. At best, the timer may not have been installed properly. At worst, it's defective. The dealer owes you a replacement or repair, unless it's a used as-is unit.

problem may just be that drum is not turning so you think program is stopped. try cancelling and select spin program and see if you get spin

SOURCE: Will not advance from fill cycle
Check your drain hose to make sure you have not sealed the top of the standpipe (drain line), or shoved your drain hose too far down in the pipe. If you do not allow for an air gap, your washer will fill and begin to siphon through the drain line. It is common for folks to seal the standpipe or shove the drain hose down in the line too far in the belief that it will prevent overflows, or get rid of that nasty drain smell. This can be bad because it does not allow for the proper air gap to keep the water from being siphoned right out of the machine. You may have a tight fitting that doesn't siphon every time which may explain why the problem doesn't occur all the time. Double check to make sure. Hope this helps.

And dont forget to rate me on this great site. You have to replace your inlet water valves. Its simple.

Electric inlet valve doesn't close properly. You should get it replaced ASAP. It is a cheap part and quite easily replaceable. Turn off water to your machine until you fix this and keep it unplugged.
