How do you replace a fuse to the cigarette lighter in a 2004 Highlander. I need it to plug in my ipod adapter. Where is the fuse box?

The end of the ipod adapter came off and caused a spark in the cigarette lighter, which in turn, knocked out my XM radio.

The Highlander does have two fuse boxes one in the engine compartment and the other In the Cab. The Second fuse box is where you will find the Fuse to the lighter.
There is a small Door on the left side that Pulls open on the driver sided about knee level. If you Use a flash Light you can see the fuse box behind this pocket door. Open the Door and Pull the pocket door up it should come off easily and you will haves access to the fuses behind it.
replace the 15 amp fuse #23 or the 15 amp fuse on the left sided 2nd down Be sure the check the other 15amp fuse which is 2 below that. That is for the Other cigarette type plug on the passenger side.

There's a starter relay in the fuse box under the hood. Have a friend touch the top while you turn the key. If he doesn't feel a slight "tap" then it's most likely blown. Replace. Cheap.

Where is the fuse box for the cigarette lighter of a 2006 Toyota Highlander?

In the 2006 Model the Cigarette lighter is located behind the small compartment on the drivers side dashboard left of the steering wheel. Simply lower the compartment door (Fuse box cover) and remove it to access the fuses. Jul 2010

Cigarette lighter in our 2006 Highlander no longer has power. Is this just a fuse replacement

Could be. Have you checked the owners manual to see where the fuse is and check it? If the fuse is good and the lighter is still not working pull the lighter out and check to make sure the lighter has power. If it does have power then go to your local parts store and buy a new cigarette lighter and install.

More cigarette lighter plugs

Yes. Recommend to have local repair/stereo shop perform installation due to running new wiring and fusing circuits.

2003 Jetta VR6 fuse question

you will have to look in your owner's manual or remove the fuse panel cover and it may be labled there, with a position number. you will have to look at the position of the diagram either in the book or on the cover then orientate as you look at the fuse box itself. sometimes they lable the fuses with a number under neath each fuse to give it's location. And yes, I don't see why you can't use a charger for your ipod in the cigarette lighter. it should work just fine, people use that for car chargers for cell phones, and lots of other things. if you don't smoke then you don't need to buy an adapter that has one plug on one end to go into the lighter hole and gives you 2 that you can plug things into it...it's called a two in one adapter.
