It all depends on your model number of course, but if JUST the turntable is failing, it may just be a defective turntable motor or coupler.

If your internal cooling fan and/or inside / cavity light is defective, too, it may be the internal fan motor, a door switch, or a relay on the control board.

We repair those and can offer more free advice with the full model number and a little bit more detail about what's working, what's not, and when.

You can find handy exploded views and order parts by model number here.

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.

You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.

If yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or plastic coupler.

To replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover of the oven.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

SOURCE: Turntable and cooking power not working, everything else does.

You have a shorting membrane keypad.

If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

Feel free to contact me directly (and please include your full model number from the tag in or on the unit) for a free estimate and free tips & do-it-yourself advice.

SOURCE: Turntable has stopped revolving...

One suggestion i would make is that in the microwave there is the turntable, lift the plate off ,then below it you will see a circular object with wheels on.I think you may have this the wrong way up, so turn it over put the plate back on top and should work.

its the circular piece on runners that is the problem

The problem with the turntable could be the following:

  1. Gummed up lubrication or bad bearings. Check to see if there is any food on the turntable spindle.
  2. If that is ok, check to see if the belt is loose or broken.
  3. If that is ok, check the motor. A meter will confirm whether there is power going to the motor, when you depress the keypad on button. Use the AC Volts setting, if you have about 21 VAC and the motor does not work, then the motor is bad.

If the turn table automatically picks up the tone arm and starts the record and changes after the record is over, then you are haering the gear box.

Oven seems to be working with the exception of the turntable not revolving

Check that there is no damage to the plastic turntable rotor (i.e the part with wheels) underside the plate. Motor could be working but rotor missing or not connected properly, or damaged. Otherwise the turntable motor or motor driver circuit is fried.

could be the turntable motor itself,or maybe your microwave may have an isolator on the control board, if not to get access you need to tip the unit on its side so you can get to the bottom of the unit, (take the plate out first )you will see the access panel in the middle on the base of the uni,t it will have3 or 4 moutings that will need to be cut away then the panel falls off, you will find 1 or 2 screws holding the motor in remove the motor you need to take the part to shop where you will have identify the par,t there so many motors for microwaves speed shaft size and shape they may even test the motor for you,if its not that then best to take to a repair agen,t

Turntable has stopped revolving

Unfortunately unless your are under warranty there is not much you can do. The table is driven with plastic gears and these wear or break. You can call a repair shop and if they happen to have the gears from the same model they might be able to fix it cheap enough. Otherwise it might be cheaper to get a new one to get it working again.

If it works other than this you can get a wind up turntable. Not as good as the driven one but these are cheap.

The turntable motor could be bad or the coupler that the turntable sets on could be worn out. The are the two most common failures.

I also have a High Pointe Microwave Model EM925BSC SN 0608MO3508 manufactured in Aug 06. Tried to use it for the first time this weekend after buying a new Honda EU2000I to use it. The turntable does not turn automatically or when I try to turn it manually. Cooks OK. Nothing in the owner's manual that came with trailer (Zoom 178) mention how to fix the problem.

Anyone have a Ph# for High Pointe. Their Service center address is High Pointe, 2617 N Great Southwest Parkway, #100 , Grand Prarie, TX 75050.
