Question about Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine

CS6000i jamming bobbin case

This machine is less than a year old. I've used it about 5 times and it's never worked right. Last weekend I tried it again with new thread but it just kept jamming up, breaking the thread and finally bent the needle all to hell. I took off the bobbin cover and noticed the black housing in the picture was all chewed to hell and jammed up. I noticed there was a white arrow on it and a white dot on the "cup" it sits in. I lined those up and put it back together. It sewed about 2 inches and everything jammed up again and wouldn't budge. This is a picture of whats going on: http://imgur.com/RY9dt Any ideas how to fix this? I've called Brother and they just said take it to a service center but the problem is that's like a two hour drive. Time I just don't have.

check you tension on the top thread and see if you have it threaded the right way. Also see if the indent of your needle "the indent down by the hole on the needle" is facing the hook by your bobbin case that grabs the thread when it comes around.

Need repairman for Elna Lotus TSP

Leaving a machine for that long unused causes this issue. The oil becomes dried out and gums up the mechanisms. The motor sounds off mostly because the grease is dry too.

It doesn't need to be an Elna mechanic... it just needs to be a GOOD sewing machine mechanic.

Machine jams after 4 or 5 stitches. Bobbin thread locks up.

try these suggestions
change the needle
make sure the thread doesn't come off the thread take up lever--this
can jam the machine
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case--this
can cause problems if the bobbin is turned the wrong way
make sure the bobbin is not warped or damaged
make sure there are no burrs in the bobbin area or on the needle
plate

Two threads coming from bobbin?

try adjusting the top thread tension-one number or letter less, then
sew on a piece of the scrap fabric if you have any. to see if that helps
try changing the needle
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case, I
know this may sound crazy but it can hinder the sewing, I was sewing
a skirt the other night & I turned the bobbin the wrong way & inserted
the bobbin into the bobbin case & it didn't work good,, I took the bobbin
out of the bobbin case & had multiple threads. so I had to clean the mess up & turn the bobbin the opposite way & the machine worked
just fine

Bobbin case won't stay in correct position

you need to have the machine checked to see if the hook & hook race
may need to be replaced & the machine may need also to be timed
a repair shop can tell you for sure

Thread keeps breaking, Silk Fabric bunching u[

Machine breaks needles
1.make sure you are using the right needle for your type of sewing machine.
Most machines can use generic Schmetz needles. There are cases where the machine will only use ones specified in the owners manual.
2.the presser foot may not be installed properly
3.use the correct needle for the type of fabric you are working with. To fine of needle on heavy fabric or to course a needle on silk or jersey can damage fabric. make sure the correct needle for silk is being used.
4.let the feed dogs guide the fabric & the feed dogs will work with the presser foot .
5.the needle is not all the way in -push all the way up against the stop

also clean under the needle plate & in the bobbin area for lint or loose
threads
check to make sure the feed dogs are completely in the up position

if none of these suggestions work then it's possible that the machine
is out of time & would have to retimed at a sewing machine shop

it's very possible that the machine is slightly out of time & needs to be service at a sewing machine shop
is the fabric & thread & needle compatable with each other?
did you use every thread guide when threading the machine?
is the bobbin in correctly?
is the bobbin warped?

Janome mini heavy duty sewing machine

when you sew keep a eye on the thread take up lever & see if the thread comes off while your sewing, I've had this happen to me & I've been sewing for over 30 years. if this does happen, take a pair of pliers & very gently close the take up lever just alittle but not enough to damage it.
also check the needle to see if it's damaged--if your not sure change the needle--flat side goes to the back of the machine
always make sure the fabric & needle & thread are compatable--the thread must be able to pull thru the needle with out any problem
also check to make sure there are not any burrs on the needle plate or bobbin or bobbin case

Error Message This embroidery card cannot be used with this machine

Is it a pre-loaded card - or one you add patterns to?
If its one you add patterns to, make sure the pattern isn't too large for the machine. EG if machine does 4"x4" and you've loaded a 5"x7" pattern, try down-sizing the pattern/ breaking it up into smaller sections to load & sew

I have a Brother LS-1717 sewing machine and my thread keeps breaking. We've oiled it but it hasn't acted right for years, it hasn't seemed to matter what the settings are on or what...

here are somethings to try,
1. change the needle--flat side goes to the back of the machine
2. check the tension see if it's too tight,,usually 4 to 5 is good
3. rethread the machine top thread & bobbin area
4. check to see if there are any burrs on the needle plate where the feed dogs are (teeth area)
5. you said that you made a comforter for your husband using thick fabric,,some sewing machine are not good at sewing comforters & other heavy fabric,, it's possible that the machine is out of time, which means it will not sew good & mess up,, which means it needs to be serviced by a repair shop technican to see if it is out of time.
