Question about Lexmark Prevail Pro705 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer
I've refilled the black cartridge with ink by peeling back label below chip being careful not to harm the chip or overflow the cartridge and replaced label on the cartridge. Now I've inserted the cartridge back in the printer and the printer display still says low ink and will not print.
Consider the facts. If it's "manmade" then there's a way around it. This is one of the most unethical moves on the part of any company to pull such a stunt as this to FORCE people to use their product. I see these little chips and will attempt 1 last time to cover them, or use a magnet and burn them out, or the Lexmark is GONE forever.
I used to have a printer that accepted Walgreen's refills with no problem.

There are a couple ways to trick it into accepting the cartridge. You can put a different one in, take it out and then put the filled one in. Or you can find a refill kit with instructions on what contacts to cover with tape and you have to do it 2 or 3 times to get the printer to reset. Sometimes you can shut off the computer and printer for 20 min and start it up again. Or you can get the sledge hammer and smash the stupid printer before it sucks up your life savings and vow never to buy from a company that profits from causing problems that they tell you can only be solved by using more of their overpriced solutions.

Lexmark and Dell use a sensor in the cartridge to sense a low ink level. Once the sensor has been activated, you cannot reset it. The printer should work fine except for the fact that you'll have to override the "low ink" message on your computer.
Manufacurers don't make money on printer hardware. All the money is made from ink replacement, so they make it as difficult as possible to use anything other than the stuff you buy from them. Some (HP) put in chips for an "expiration" of the ink/toner. Go beyond the expiration date, the thing won't work.

If you refill the regular lexmark 100 ink cartridges, you will not be able to use it because there is a rfid chip that track the ink usage. you will need to buy the 100a type which will let you print if the ink level is empty. since you have refill the 100 ink cartridge, you can swap the 100a chip to your 100 cartridge.

You can refill Lexmark 100 ink cartridge but the cartridge will still indicate to be out of ink
There is a RFID chip that monitor the ink level of that cartridge.
If you purchase the Lexmark 100A ink cartridge, these ink can be refill and the printer will
work even if out of ink..
Lexmark 100A ink cartridge can be purchase at Lexmark.com website.
Since you have refill your cartridge, you can transfer the chip from the 100A in the future.
