If the liquid is dark, and you have dark stains, than it is LCD fluid, and you need to replace display panel.

If instead you have water behind the front panel, then the monitor must be taken apart, starting from the back panel, then boards must be removed and lastly, the LCD panel.

When you have only the empty monitor chassis, with the protective plexyglass panel accessible then you can dry it up.

The unit must be taken apart completely to do the job, amd must be done by an experienced technician, if you dont want to risk breaking a ribbon cable, or damaging an internal part.

Evidently some of the poster here does not have a clue.

As I told you, a complete service to dry the monitor must be done by a technician.

If you do not care about potentially damaging the unit, you can Remove the back panel, and without removing the digital control board and the rest, just blow cold (not hot ) air , using an hair dryer from distance, not to damage components. Then leave the unit apart in a dry warm place for two or three days.
This is not the professional way to do the job, but if water inside is not too much , it may work.

Having the job done by a technician is always better.

    Good luck.

I always suggest Monster Screen cleaner, It is not alcohol based and is designed for cleaning LCD screens. I use this professionally in my tv shop, this stuff is great, even removes crayon marks.

Ceiling leaked into the plasma tv now has a black streak . can this be fixed

Hi my name is Eric,
I hope I can help you with your issue ,
Well you could take it apart and see, most plasmas have a glass front with a screen behind it. If you take the screen out you could clean the glass if thats where the black is. This job is about 2 hours on most plasmas.
If your TV is an LCD then there usually is no glass, tough the front and check. in that case you'd need a new screen

My Sony KDE42xs955 was cleaned with windex and now has water marks on the screen that I cannot get off is there a trick to removing these? They look like the marks left on a windshield after going through...

Hello,

Assuming you have removed the coating with the cleaner, (TV is much brighter where the marks are)

If you have home insurance then now is the time to call.

The TV, being an LCD, has a coating on the front, kind of like paint, but not. It is what allows an LCD TV to produce "Black", by blocking the light.

It is not easily replaceable as it is sprayed on at the factory.

Sorry.

My son threw a ball and hit the screen cracks all over can this be fixed with a new screen or is it junk now really bright light shows through all the crack marks

The front glass is just a protector for the LCD screen. If your TV turns on and the picture looks ok (may be a little color variation around the crack if front glass is pushing on it, variation OK black Bad) If the picture looks within the range described then replace the glass. It is just a piece of standard glass and a pretty easy diy job. If the LCD screen is broken the repair will be more than the replacement cost. Sad fact US TV repairmen make a living wage while the workers that assembled you TV wouldn't be able to buy lunch here with what they made putting it together.

HELP!!!! - Vizio GV47LF LCD HDTV HELP!!! - HOW TO FIX?

When you turn it in, do you get an image? And if it is the LCD screen ( not the front protected glass) then yeah you might as well junk the TV. The cost for a replacement LCD screen exceed the cost of the unit. Sorry about the bad news, just being honest. Turn the television, if the LCD is cracked, then you will see it right away when the television is turned on.
