Question about Lexmark Wheelwriter 5 Series II Typewriter
Releasing the margin release will only move the prinhead to the center of the machine. I can't figure out anyway to move the printhead to the left side of the machine
Check the 2 silver rails that the carriage rides on, they need to have a little bit of oil on them. I f they are dry to the touch, they need to be lubricated with a little bit of a light weight oil. This could also be caused by bad keyboard. Do all the keys seem to work? Try turning machine off and move carriage by hand to the left then turn on and see what happens.

Turn the machine off move the carrier back & forth by hand and see if it will go all the way to both ends. If it doesn't look for debris in it's path. If it moves put some WD40 on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on. Put some WD40 on the bfront and rear carrier motot bearings, the front one can be reached from inside the T/W the rear one will require snaking the straw thru the case.
