Might be virus problem please do a virus scan with antivirus software and check for bad power supply unit or parts overheating and causing system to hang.

Also try to reinstall system and see if it helps, or try using system restore ( if using windows xp or vista )

hope it helps

My system gets hanged often mostly when i click of videos of mpe

Can't say for sure but 256mb of ram is very low.Have you installed new software or hardware? That could be taxing your system.Try to open Windows Task Manager (hold alt then ctrl, while still holding alt, then delete, while still holding alt ctrl).look under proformance for how much memory is being used.Check it again when running oter programs. You can also go to start control panel click control panel, go to click 2 times to open administrative tools then click Event Viewer (2 times to open).2 clicks on system,or applications to see errors, fatal errors, other issue with codes to find out what the problem is.Very important to deframent your hard drive use tools. Many things cause windows to hang.Good Luck.

Hanging problem

  1. Dirt and clogged fans vents and Heatsinks - When your CPU overheats it will either slowdown to a crawl then hang before shutting down.
  2. Virus and Spyware infection - These nasties tend to run processes that will either slowdown your PC will hang if you run out of resources.
  3. Heavily fragmented drive - throughout the time that your PC is running every time you access a file it tends to settle in a different location than where it originally was. fragmented files launch slower if you run out of resources while the file is launching PC will freeze.
  4. Too many programs running at once or too many startup items are loading in your taskbar. - Startup programs run continously while PC is on leaving you with little to barely enough resources to work with.
  5. Insufficient Memory,CPU or Hard Drive capacity - these three are the heart and soul of your computer they need breathing rooms so their capacities dont get exhausted by normal PC usage.
  6. Failing hardware components and faulty hard drive. - When your PC runs out of memory room it uses the spare space in your hard drive it's called the Page File. If your hard drive is faulty your PC will have problems accessing the Page File it will then Hang.
These are the most common causes of hanging.

Hanging after booting

Hanging is just a minor problem of any pc. It just means that the system is hot. Just open up the system unit and make sure that the cpu, system and power pack fans are working. Also clean the system because of dust.
