Can't say for sure but 256mb of ram is very low.Have you installed new software or hardware? That could be taxing your system.Try to open Windows Task Manager (hold alt then ctrl, while still holding alt, then delete, while still holding alt ctrl).look under proformance for how much memory is being used.Check it again when running oter programs.You can also go to start control panel click control panel, go to click 2 times to open administrative tools then click Event Viewer (2 times to open).2 clicks on system,or applications to see errors,fatal errors,other issue with codes to find out what the problem is.Very important to deframent your hard drive use tools.Many things cause windows to hang.Good Luck.
Hello,This always happen when the processor is bad or faulty. when the system is working, check if the processor fan is working too, if the processor is working that means the CPU is faulty.leave the system open and power it on to see if it will hang.
Do check viruses in the system, that might cuase the system hang, initially try to boot with good antivirus cd, scan the system once viruses removed, boot to normal mode and install the same antivirus, it will works
