Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9600224C you can find it here; http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=BP9600224C?Click=48173 .Have a bless one!

Samsung LCD 46 inch half of the screen is darker than the other half.

Hi, while fixing another persons lcd tv i used lower rated power supply to try to fire up the tv ( picture-no sound) the bulbs ( actually cold cathode fluorescent ) lit up but only halfway. So sounds like the power supply for your backlight has gotten weak. You may try a workaround I've used on personal equipment, try turning down brightness on tv-this may,if your lucky, even out the brightness. hope this helped. Prodzilla

I have noticed the screen is now not as bright as it use to be, still works just not bright. A darker look is the best way to describe it

Hi,

The most common indications of a weak bulb in a Sony LCD Rear Projection TV are:
  • Dimimage with low brightness and contrast.
  • NoPicture, Dark Screen.
  • Shadowsin Image, sometimes circular.
  • Intermittent Shutdown.
  • Fluctuating or Flashing Brightness.
  • Longerthan Normal starting time.
Also check for distortion caused by Optical Engine Failure. If any of these faults are present, bulb will not fix. Sony Optical Engine Fault Gallery

Picture flickers on Sony HDTV

Hi,It seems your ballast(board that powers light bulb) is going weak. The ballast was used to provide a lower voltage because lamp didn't use as much as brand new one. A newer one takes more voltage and when ballast doesn't provide as much power it will flicker or produce a dimmer image.I found the one for your tv here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/1091041-KDS-60A3000-p/1091041.htm?Click=48173 Good luck and God bless you!

Uh Oh! blue screen of death. Your light engine has warped a little from overheating and is distorting the picture.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with hitachi and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.

PROVIEW PL-456S LCD MONITOR TURNING PINK ON ONE SIDE

Chances are that you are not hurting anything with the lower power supply. What is probably happening is most likely two fold. 1. The light bulbs in the backlight circuit may just be wearing out and need replacement, and 2. the lower current power supply may not be capable of producing al the current that the monitor needs at certain times during operation. I would suggest getting hold of the correct power supply module and see where that gets you. If you still have the red outs, replace the light bulbs in the monitor. The only other fault than that would have to be in the video controller. Hope this helps.

Samsung HLM507W will not turn on Alright so here's the deal....I got this TV for free from a guy on craigslist. He said he couldnt get it to turn on. He replaced the lamp, it still didn't work, so he gave up and now I have it. First thing I did was try and turn it on... The TV powered up for about 5 seconds, and then the screen started to flicker all kinds of crazy colors, and it shutdown shortly after with all 3 lights blinking. I figured this probably has to do with the color wheel, so I bought a new one and popped it in. Once installed, the TV started right up, and worked for the entire duration of it being on (approx 7 hours). Now it will not turn on. Here's the startup sequence: -Push power -A couple of audible clicks, and both cooling fans energize. -Lamp does not turn on, and after about 45 seconds of having just the fans running, the TV cycles off and tries to power itself back on. -Rinse and repeat about 3 times total. -After the 3rd attempt, the TV shuts down completely and all 3 lights start blinking in front. -Pushing power does not do anything with the 3 lights blinking. TV must be unplugged and pplugged back in before sequence can be attempted again. Looking for a possible solution/troubleshoot technique. Checked the fuses and they are fine, triple checked all of the connections. Seeing as the lamp doesnt even attempt to energize, Im thinking it could be the ballast, but I'm trying not to dump money into something that might not fix the problem. Thanks for your help!
