Question about Toshiba Satellite A15-S127 Notebook

1 Answer

The projector doesn't show what is on my screen

The projector just shows the my desktop picture - so it would appear that there is a communication between the laptop and the projector. However, when I try to use the Fn F5 option - it doesn't appear to work i.e. it doesn't toggle on / off - is it possible to lock this button?

The laptop is an Acer Aspire

Your projector may be on the 2nd screen or presentation mode of your video card. open an application and drag the application window off your screen (try both sides) and see if it will appear on the projector.

Can anyone identify this PC Wallpaper

that's probably that your wallpaper isn't fit with your monitor resolution, for example,if your wallpaper size is 1280x1024 but your screen resolution (size) is 1024x768,it doesn't fit your screen and the wallpaper will only show half or even less
to check your current resolution,click
Start->Control Panel->click Appearance and Personalization->Click "adjust screen resolution" on the Display categories
you can see your current resolution and also you can set your resolution
To check the picture resolution, right click on the picture, select properties, click the Summary tab,and it doesn't show the resolution, click Advanced on the Summary tab
But I suggest you to download the wallpaper with a fit size instead of changing the screen resolution, because too high resolution will make your screen goes black
geez,i'm so sorry for my poor english
please rate this solution if it's work and let me know if you still has a problem.and thanks for using Fixya!

Infocus projector can show what ever on your desktop. if you open cd on desktop that will show on projector provided you are connected to your projector. Its better to power on projector first and then your computer!
Alternatively you can press Fuction button the button with green lettering on left lower part of keyboard and F4 on top simultaneously to show whats on desktop through your projector! if it does not happen press function button and F4 again!

How do you set the background on a Dell to show a slideshow of all of the pictures?

To use your own pictures

1.

Find the pictures that you want to include in your slide show. All of the pictures must be located in the same folder.

Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button and clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type desktop background, and then click Change desktop background.

2.

If the pictures that you want to use aren't in the list of desktop background pictures, click the Picture location list to view other categories, or click Browse to search your computer for the folder where the pictures are located.

Picture of the Picture location menuLook for pictures in other locations on your computer.

3.

Select the check box for each picture that you want to include in your slide show.

By default, all of the pictures in a folder are selected and will be part of the slide show. If you don't want all of the pictures in the folder to be included, do one of the following:
*

Clear the check box for each picture that you want to remove from the slide show.

Picture of one check box cleared in a group of selected photosClear the check box to remove a picture from the slide show.
*

Press the Ctrl key, and then click each picture that you want to remove. Only the selected pictures will appear in the slide show.

To create a slide show of pictures on the desktop, you must select more than one picture. If only one picture is selected, the slide show ends and the selected picture becomes the desktop background.

If all of the pictures in the folder are selected, any new pictures that you add to the folder will be added to the slide show automatically.

4.

Do one or more of the following:
*

Click an item in the Picture position list to crop the pictures to fill the screen, fit the pictures to the screen, stretch the pictures to fit the screen, tile the pictures, or center the pictures on the screen.
*

Click an item in the Change picture every list to choose how quickly the slide show changes pictures.
*

Select the Shuffle check box to have the pictures appear in a random order.

5.

Click Save changes.

To use pictures that Windows provides as part of a theme

1.

Open Personalization by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.

2.

Under Aero Themes, click a theme to apply it to the desktop. With the exception of the Windows 7 theme, all of the Aero themes include a desktop background slide show.

3.

To change the theme's default slide show pictures or settings, click Desktop Background.

4.

Select the check box for each picture that you want to include in your slide show.

By default, all of the pictures associated with a theme are selected and will be part of the slide show. To add pictures from other themes to your slide show, do one of the following:
*

Point to each picture that you want to add to the slide show, and then select its check box.

My name is Chris. I connected my Dell Lat. D600 to a projector for a power point presentation but it refused to connect to the projector. Please what do i do to make my slide show else my school will fail...

you need to right click on the desktop and click properties, when display settings appear, enable the second display and you will then be able to show output on the projector. if you choose mirror displays whatever is shown on your laptop is copied to the projector. if you choose extend the display you would have to drag your power point over to the other screen, same as if you were to move the window out of the way

I have conected my laptop to a projector using a rgb connection and get the bootup picture from my laptop onto the screen then it dissapears and just shows a blue projected screen. I have tried using Fn...

try to restart your laptop into safe mode with still the projector connected. notice if your safe mode desktop appears projected as exactly as your laptop's desktop screen. if so, you only need to further configure your display settings.

I have a problem with displaying power point presentation

Hello, Chris.

I'm not certain if this was already tried, but here goes:

If you look at you keyboard function (F) keys, you'll see a symbol or the words "CRT/LCD". On my laptop, it is F8, but could be different on yours.

When you connect an external screen to your laptop, if the laptop information doesn't show on the external screen, press your Fn key plus that function key with the symbol or words.

Normally, when you press once, twice and three times, you toggle through various options: your laptop screen only, your external screen only and both screens.

Hope this helps.
