Mx700 keyboard/Mouse - Mouse doesn't work

I bought a keyboard/mouse duo from a friend but the mouse doesn't work and I get a message to insert batteries - I did that and charged them, downloaded the drivers from logitech and still it won't work. I read somewhere that you need to update windows, which I did and have autoupdate anyway, so why, oh why doesn't the mouse work still????

IT just loaded Office 2007. Since then the mouse cannot recognize overlapping applications on dual screens. Click and drag is troublesome and sometimes the mouse just 'hangs'.

Sounds like the mouse is bad. If you bought it from a friend, then it may very well be the case. I would replace the unit.

All in one computer and mouse and keyboard are not responding.

Check your keyboard is working or not by accessing your BIOS by pressing del or Esc or F12 (usually) or whatever your boot up screen says. If your keyboard works there then the problem lies in the operating system. If still your keyboard doesn't respond then replace the keyboard.

only if keyboard work, you can fix mouse opearting system problems.

For windows Vista & 7, expand "Mice & other point devices".right click on Microsoft Ps/2 mouse" select uninstall and restart the system. If your mouse is still working the system will automatically installed the mouse driver. And your mouse will work again.

Otherwise get a new mouse.

Note: Check you have wrongly insert the mouse 7 keyboard port at the back too.

Logitech cordless mouse and keyboard installation

You probably already done this but try pressing the receiver button and while it is flashing turn the board over and press the small reset/connect button on the bottom of the board and also the reset/connect button on the bottom of the mouse. It should work okay after that. here is hoping that helps. Bud

Logitech MX700 optical mouse

-Refurbs usually come barebone, on any refurb product, definately read the terms and agreements of the warranty... No way in $*%# would I take a refurb without SOME sort of defective warranty.

-Try another computer -If it don't work on yours, try it on another one. Ensure its not lose, so wiggle it a little, and if it lights up to charge for a second, there's something interfering with the connection from the mouse to the dock. If all else fails, call the seller, cus it is, a refurb.

-Manuals are downloadable from the manufacturers website. Its a common trend that the manuals are links somewhere around the driver webpage, but a big company like logitech, shouldnt be hard to navigate.
