Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Inferior Kodak Printheads

I had my 5300 about 6 months and everything started printing pink. I am in business and needed a printer so I bought another Kodak. This time a 5500.. Dumb idea. It worked about 4 months and same problem..Contacted tech support got a new printhead but after a few months same exact problem so again I am without a printer. You can bet I WON'T buy another Kodak. The cheaper models couldn't be worse and I won't feel so bad about throwing it out. Maybe Kodak will replace the printhead again.. Worth a try!!

    After speaking with Kodak I get the distinct impression that they know about the problems with the printheads (which is probably why they supply replacements free of charge). I won't be buying another Kodak either !

I called Kodak tech support and they are sending another printhead within 3-5 business days. Hopefully this will solve the problem I'm having and last awhile.

I have the exact same printer and it does the exact same thing. I have tried everything. Cleaned the printheads with alcohol and swabs and change to new cartridges. I tries all the tools to align and clean but always pink. Still using it for back documents but have purchased another one (a canon) for color and photo. Good Luck.

Bad printheads, 5300 & ESP7


Have your tired to update the firmware of the printer at kodak.com/go/downloads? make sure if you update the printer it must connected to your computer and it must turn On.,

If you will clean the printhead make sure its always deep clean and also you need to calibrate it also. I know you already familiar how to do it since you already contacted the Customer support.

You can always call Customer support., And if you experienced same problem using a printhead just less than a month and you updated the firmware it means the printer itself is the defective.

Kodak Easyshare 5300 printer will not print black


Print a self test diagnostic page to check the status of the black ink and print heads.

To print the self-test diagnostic page

Control panel: Press (Configuration Page button), or press and hold the (Cancel button) for 3 seconds.

For models that support networks: Press (Configuration Page button).

If these are all showing OK then clean the printheads

To clean the printheads
If printed characters are incomplete, or dots or lines are missing from printouts, ink nozzles might be clogged and you might need to clean the printheads.

NOTE: Cleaning uses ink, so clean the printheads only when necessary.

The cleaning process takes up to 3.5 minutes. Some noise might be generated in the process.
Control panel: Press and hold (Power button), press (Cancel button) two times, press (Resume button) one time, and release (Power button).

If this fails then replace the black cartridge and run a clean cycle again and then a self test diagnostic then try printing again.

Kodak printer 5500 will not print in black


I had the same problem and wasted money on 2 new cartridges before finding the answer on several blogs. Call Kodak Tech Support. In this case they are very good. Tell them the problem, they walk you through some steps and then give up. They will then send you out a new print head (a cheap and disposable device). I thought about buying another one for the next time things go bad but I can't find a source. They send it in 3-5 days, free. I think Kodak is embarrassed about their bad system (printheads should not go bad so fast!)

Please call 1.800.421.6699 and select option 01 for prints missing black or color ink. Kodak will send you a replacement printhead kit for free. I hope this helps.

Need instruction on how to replace the printhead on a kodak 5300


when replacing the printhead you will see a number of circles at the back of the print head , you press on this and the print head will snap in place, I found this very difficult initially as you do need to use some force. Actually I phoned Kodak help line and they directed me how to replace the print head on the phone, Kodak appear quite happy to solve problems and if you find it still difficult they will guide you. Apparently these kodak printheads are a common fault and need a regular replacement when the printing loses colour!!

Kodak easyshare 5300 all in one printer


I had the same problem from new , all printing was very poor and a pinkish colour, I contacted Kodak and they sent me a replacement printhead and new printcartridges free of charge. The printheads appear to be a common fault with the Kodak printer , mine is a 5300. As soon as I replaced the print head all printing was extremely good and correct colours!! the print catridges appear cheap but run out very quickly also! the 6x4 printing is easy to use however but next time I would choose another make. hope this helps . Phone Kodak and explain you have not used the printer , I am sure they are aware of the manufacturing fault with this printers printhead!! I am told some people have had the printhead changed a number of times in succession.

try to remove and install again the ink cartridges and after that perform printhead cleaning again if still prints the same call kodak aio hotline 1 800 421 6699 you might need a replacement printhead..
