Question about Mtd Garden
Have an mtd yard machine snow blower with a 8hp tecumseh engine, theother day while blowing snow, the engine rpm's picked up dramaticallyand the engine started to scream! I got it backed down by pushin thelever back to slow(it was still too high for slow) I could still blowsnow to finish by having augers and wheels engaged but as soons I ranout of snow, engine would pick right up and rev really high again! Itook the carb off an checked linkage and bowl and looked, but cannotsee why....put it back together an it does same thing...could thegovenor went out of adjustment? any ideas? appreciate ANY HELP! we'resuppose to get 4-8'' today in n.y. (.....again!) scart to use it asis....thanks in advance! RC
be careful, if the engine over revs it may just explode. These engines are very picky if over sped and easily blow up.
Your problem may be a broken throttle control rod, have look at that first. If the control rods are fine and in place it could be the fly wheel governor is worn out.
