In mouse properties, under Control Panel. This just swaps, but check it.

I have found that the best way to adjust your mouse settings is to create a control panel in your bottom toolbar scroll to the bottom of your screen right click you will see an array of options select the toolbar option then select desktop

then you will see the desktop in the bottom toolbar select the 2 >>arrow heads then all control panel items then select mouse this is in WINDOWS 7

in XP you will have to select the new toolbar option once you have that a browse option select my computer then control panel then a control panel option will be in the bottom toolbar

Click start right click on my computer select properties device manager control scroll to mice and pointing devices you might see a yellow question mark? right update driver

Click on >> control panel all control panel items mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons pointers pointer options and hardware under hardware you have options to troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have the options update driver rollback driver or uninstall in xp.

In windows 7 click start control panel hardware and sound mouse you will see the same tabs and options as with xp

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: left shift key not working

Hi Marcy,

Check that the key depresses all the way (same amount as other keys next to it). If so, then the most likely problem is that the keyboard has failed. You can have the keyboard replaced fairly easily.

Keyboard for the Dell Vostro 1520 costs $20 or less depending on where you buy. You can view YouTube videos on how to replace the keyboard or have someone professionally replace it for you.

SOURCE: Left & right arrow keys not working.

Try to connect an external keyboard, see if that one works. If it does, then the problem is most likely a loose ribbon cable from the internal keyboard to the motherboard (especially if you recently installed a new one) - also, while you are examining the cable, look for any tears, cuts, or kinks in the cable. Good luck!

How to enable touchpad on Toshiba Satellite L850?

Locate the "Fn" key in the lower right or left corner of the laptop keyboard.

The "Fn" key typically has different colored text on it or the key itself is a different color.

Locate the function (F1 through F12) key at the top of the keyboard that disables or enables the touchpad on the laptop.

The key typically has an icon that resembles a touchpad with a finger touching it or a touchpad with a diagonal line through it.

Press both the "Fn" and touchpad Function key simultaneously to reactive the touchpad on your laptop.

Move your finger along the touchpad to verify that it works.

Press the combination at any time to disable the touchpad again.

hope this helps

My modem is connected by my internet is not

You probably disabled the modem. To enable it again, do this:

1. Right click on My Computer.
2. Left click on Manage.
3. Left click on Device Manager in the left column.
4. Open the Modems section in the right column.
5. Right click on the modem and click on 'Enable'.

You should be able to connect again.

Good luck, and please let me know how this works out for you.

Check the BIOS ("del" key upon start-up or "F1, F2 or F10" depending on system to access the menu). Check for audio setting (may need to scroll through menu categories to see if onboard audio is enabled). If disabled, try to enable it by hit spacebar, left/right arrow key or + - keys to change setting. If it is an add-on sound card you may need to install or re-install the drivers and in this case the onboard audio should be disabled in BIOS.

Touchpad not funjctioning on Toshiba Satellite L40/45 laptop

You might have inadvertedly disabled the touchpad.

1. Press Fn + F9 to enable the touchpad.
This key combination acts as a switch, enabling or disabling the touchpad: press once to enable (if it is disabled), then press again to disable.

2. If the touchpad still doesn't respond, check the settings in the mouse control utility.
Click on the touchpad icon on the right side of the task bar if you see one or click Start button/Settings/Control Panel, select the Mouse icon and Press Enter.
Change the settings if necessary.
