To refit belt, remove top cover and rear lower panel at bottom of washer.
Tilt the m/c towards you.,you may need assistance to hold m/c.
Put the belt round the motor pulley first, and then fit it on drum pulley, slowly turn the pulley feeding the belt round as you go, it will be very tight, so be careful not to trap fingers., just keep going until belt is on, there is no adjustment needed as belt is self tensioning.
The belt needs to sit in the middle of the pulley.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

I recently posted a solution to your question on how to replace belt on Hotpoint washer.

I was wondering how you got on, as you did not leave any feed back or comment.

I do like to have feedback, as this way,I know if I am providing the correct solution.

    Any comment would be welcome.

    Thanks.

I found that a good tip is to use cable ties to hold the belt on to the drum pulley, then pull the belt on by turning and then cutting the cable ties off.
Another tip is to manually turn the drum in both directions with the machine on level floor so that the belt finds its own path on the drum pulley before turning on the electric and trying it out, e.g. on slow-spin cycle.

KNVOSS ands barkencoa thanks for the advice with the Aquarious belt replacement. It was extremely helpful and saved me a lot of time. Getting the belt onto the motor spindle is a tight fit for sure and I was not looking forward to the job however it went easily and I thought that I could add something to the debate with the solution I arrived at. Firstly get the belt warm. It was a hot day when I did it so I simply kept in in the car for a while. If its cold put it in front of a fire for a bit. Next get the belt over the drum, take a piece of metal tube, I used an old bit of curtain rod but some 15mm copper pipe would also be ok. Pass the tube between the drum and the belt, engage the end of the tube onto the end of the motor spindle and press down the other end. Slip the belt along the tube until it is over the spindle. Hold the belt and pull the tube out. Position on the spindle and job done, no worries and no sweat.

SOURCE: hotpoint washing machine belt come off

Either the motor has loosened enough from its mounting to shift to an angle instead of being straight in alignment to the pulley, or the pulley has . Whenever a belt pulley becomes misaligned or is shifted to a slightly off angle position, the belt will seek and climb up the edge that is out of alignment and make its way off.

The only other feasible explanation is that the motor or pulley has become loose enough in its mounting to slide one toward the other. A belt turning without enough tension to keep it tight and flat will, through centrifugal force, raise up enough out of its path to find the slightest misalignment and work toward that edge until it comes off.

Until this situation is corrected it will eventually find its way off again.

SOURCE: Hotpoint washing machine. Replaced drive belt

You most likely didn't tighten up the belt tensioner, this adjusts the tightness of the belt, so as it stretches, during use, this can be, adjusted out.

SOURCE: how do i fix on a drive belt to a washing machine?

There is a removeable cover at bottom rear of washer..
Undo this, and you will see the motor and belt.
It will be very tight to put on, but this is normal as it is a stretch belt, that is why there is no adjustment on motor.
Hope this helps you .

Thankyou.

SOURCE: washing machine wont spin

If the machine has a sudden power glitch you must reset it.
Here is the secret:
To Reset the Inverter Board: Machine off: Unplug the machine for one minute. Plug back in and raise and lower the lid six times within 12 seconds.
If you still have nothing or if that puppy is dead in the water, you have a open transorber. The part you would need is wh49X1004.
What does a transorber do? It is a line voltage filter which protects the delicate circuits in these crappy new fangled electronics. Just thought you would like to know. I have the service manual in a printable version if you want it. Let me know.

Replace belt on Hotpoint Aquarius WM31 washing

Hi.
Remove top cover of washer.
Remove rear access panel.
Slacken off the motor fixing bolts, and pull motor towards drum top.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and then feed it round the drum pulley from the rear of the washer.
Tighten motor bolts just enough to hold motor steady, and pull motor towardsa cabinet side to tension belt, it needs to be farly tight.
Then tighten motor bolts securely.
Fit back top and rear covers.

You are doing the right thing. Hook the belt onto the motor pulley, then onto the main pulley as far as it will go, use a few cable ties to hold it on the pulley and turn the drum anti clockwise, the cable ties will snap as the pulley turns. Hotpoint have made a tool for putting these belts on but you woudn't want to pay out just for one belt.Belt fitting Diagram link

If there is a small inspection panel at the back where you can get to the motor remove that then remove the top lid of the machine. Loosen motor mounts and swing motor up and remove belt from motor. Now remove belt from pulley from the top of machine. Reverse the order starting from the top to replace belt.

How do I replace the belt that makes the drum spin on a Hotpoint Ultima WF860 ?

The belt goes around the drum and onto the motor pulley. No need to loosen anything. Put tension on the belt and fit it onto the motor pulley by gently turning the motor and pushing the belt onto the pulley at the same time.
