Canon GL2: eject tape/ condensation error... service locations??

Hello, I get a eject tape and a condensation error on my Canon GL2. I tried the DV tape cleaner. It worked for a little bit but the problem persisted and errors were amongst me again. I'd like to see if there is a service place I can physically take the GL2 to. Are there multiple places on south jersey?
Please let me know. I can't take not being able to make my short films.
Thanks so much, Sincerly, Ryan

This is related to the dew sensor, and now you can not by-pass this error except by paying $ 300- 500 to Canon repair people.
I can solve your problem by taking this camera, with a faulty designed dew sensor, off your hands for a couple hundred dollars.
Instead of spending hundreds, you could actually make a few dollars by selling a camera that does not work. I have a way i can use these cameras that do not need the tape.

I haven't used my Canon Gl2 since last during the winter months. Camera was used for filimg in the snow. As of today I pulled the camera out of the case. The camera powered up when I turned it on to...

This is usually caused by a failed component in the moisture detection circuitry within the camera. This will require disassembling the camera to remove the tape mechanism and repair. This can usually be done fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

DV tape will not eject, Canon GL2.

Tape mechanism problems can be quite complicated but they can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be diagnosed by a qualified service technician.

GL2 - Tape gets jammed everytime. Eject lights up immediately

This problem is usually related to the Dew Sensor, Unfortunately you can not by-pass the dew sensor. I paid a repair to fix, but he could not. Canon must repair the dew sensor.
I have same prob. I just capture directly to computer since my tape will not open. I would be interested in buying cameras like this, i can use them to still monitor images.

My canon gl2 won't record because it keep telling me to eject the tape. I put in a new tape and the samething keeps on happening. What can I do about it?

You may be the victim of dirty clogged head. When the tape is incerted on GL2, it is searching for the data from the tape but if the heads are clogged it will not communicate so, the processing computer think the tape is damaged. Procedure to clean the head. This may not clean but let's try. Purchase a head cleaner tape and run it for about 10 seconds but not more. Try to insert regular clean tape and try it. If this does not resolve the problem, GL2 need cleaning and adjustment by technician. Good luck -James. For further assistance email, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com

My GL2 camera constantly wants me to eject tape!!  I am unable to use my camera because it forces me to eject  the tape. I've switch tapes and use new tapes and still the same  results. Only time it...

The immediate remedy may be cleaning the video heads. The head is not receiving the data from the inserted tape because it may be clogged. Use head cleaning tape for about 10 seconds but NO MORE. Try again, if not you may need to clean and adjust by trained technicians. Good luck -James. For further assistance, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com
