Pocket mouse "hangs up" when I stop moving. Starts again if I cli

Just re-installed XP on my Toshiba. Plugged in mouse. Works but hangs up every time I stop moving. Click and it works again until the next time I stop. Searched for drivers Found a link that said "Download Detective' That seems like more than I need.

Had nothing to do with the reinstall of XP. Just put in new batteries. Guess it was just a coincidence that the batteries went dead (low) at the time I redid XP.

Im using windows xp and im just typing up a paper when my mouse stops moving. the wheel still works and i can click and everything but i cannot move the mouse

The system is hanging up , it will be good to clean up all temperory files, use a virus scan, do the defragmentation and check. If the set hangs up then the PC must be set back to an earlier restore setting, if not the OS must be reinstalled if this gets worse.

Reinstalled XP after putting in new HD. Delay issues

Is the HDD same as the previous one? I mean the specs. These laptops are very HW specific while desktops are free of any such problems. Moreover, Did you reboot the laptop before and after reinstalling the mouse drivers? please follow the procedure in the link below:

I just sprayed my dad's lens cleaner on one end of a Q-tip to clean the lens of the mouse and dried the excess fluid with the other end of the Q-tip. WORKS GREAT :)

Keyboard/Mouse Freezes System Sporadically

Wireless routers generally are 2.4 Ghz, as well as the wireless keyboard and mouse. I think there is interference from the router that causes the keyboard and mouse to hang. I had the same problem with my 2.4 Ghz cordless telephones and my new wireless router. Went to 5.8 Ghz telephone and the problem stopped. I'm not sure yet how to work around the keyboard/mouse issue.

THE MOUSE WON'T MOVE! :(

You may have a corrupt driver, so go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look at the list for mice and other pointing devices, click on the '+' sign and and then your touch pad will be listed, right click on it and select uninstal. Restart the pc and it will automatically reinstall and should work as normal
